Get a critque by Jake, Will, or Lee
-
Hi guys, we have finally opened up our new critique area of svs and we are so excited about it! You can book time with Jake, Will, or I and we will give you personal feedback on how to move your art, technique, or business forward. Since we are just getting this going, we only have THREE spots with each of us so we anticipate it filling up pretty quick. More times and dates will be opened as we move forward.
In this crit you can ask anything you want. We can crit a few images, or talk about a technique problem you might be having, or even some business questions. It's your time, so you can ask anything you like. (NOTE: All crits are private and will not be shared with anyone.) : )
This is available to SVS members only. I'm pasting some details here. Or you can go straight to the class: https://courses.svslearn.com/courses/office-hours
We are really looking forward to working with you guys in a more personal way. Let me know if you have any questions (AFTER you read the description on the how it works).

This is such a wonderful opportunity from you guys! ️ I think I'm your first customer Looking forward to hearing your advice

@Jenna-Jenks Nice Jenna! Hope you enjoy it. Jake is a great teacher!
-
@Lee-White All of you are! ️ My questions were social media related, that's mostly why I went with Jake.
-
@Lee-White Awesome! This is the thing I was kinda hoping for a year or two ago.
Do you have a tentative idea when in the future book dummy reviews may be offered? Weeks? Months? Perhaps sometime this year if the stars align just right?
-
@Braden-Hallett very soon. The reason we don't offer a full book dummy crit with this is those are going to require much more time from the teacher. To really get into a book dummy, it can take hours to really see where the problems are and how to fix them. Same with portfolios.
So when people book a book dummy crit or a full portfolio review, it will be a bigger block of time and it will cost more.

Sounds good! makes sense

Okay. This is the 4th edit of this post Just to be sure @Lee-White: my question would be if my portfolio is ready to be sent to children’s book publishers. It is not a full portfolio review perse.. Would this be possible with this time slot or should I rather wait until the larger slots become available? I am looking for the “go or no go”, not so much an in depth critique on the individual pieces, so maybe this slot would suffice?
-
@nadyart I think that would be no problem at all. I'd say go for it.
-
@Lee-White Thank you, I booked it
-
@nadyart great! I look forward to seeing the work.
-
We are almost sold out. If anyone wants in, you better be quick!
-
I'd love to do this in a few months or so. I feel like I'm not quite ready for it. It increases my motivation to get more pieces ready for critique though
-
@Lee-White , Is this going to be offered every month? Can you also give us cost for full portfolio review? Thanks
-
@Lee-White thank you svs team for doing this!
-
@Lee-White , very cool! I’m looking forward to this after I finish all the classes and ready to get in the ring with the big boys!
-
This is pretty rad. I think by the end of this year i will need to take advantage of this.
-
Nice. SVS just keeps getting better.
I'm going to hold off until I have some more childrens style work in my portfolio.
Interested in the longer website/portfolio reviews in the future, has any thought be put into what that might cost? Ballpark est?
-
This is great !! Me too I'll pass for this time as I know I can improve on my own for now but for sure when I have something I feel ready I will take advantage of it. Thank you

This is great! I started to sign up yesterday and I realized I wanted to produce a couple more pieces first. So I'll be on the lookout for the next go round!
