decided to be on the ball and enter early! I'm a bit confused on what size the image should be though..........?I know there was a post a while back but I can't find it now.
Former horseback riding instructor followed by pediatric occupational therapist now artist/illustrator!
I polished an illustration I did last fall now that I understand photoshop a bit better ! Getting ready to have a website going
also was working on losing the linework a bit. I'm not very good at linework and I like working on edges so am learning to lean into that a little
calling it done and moving on
nothing new but picking away at a few pieces I have shown before. On the dinosaur one I added a bit of a haze to the background to maybe push it farther back, deepened the cast shadow on the dino and tried to pop the girl out a bit more from the tree (but not too much). With the mouse I am doing more painting and toouchupps and kind of losing the line work that was there initially.
well it's not perfect, still figuring out how to use photoshop! Only my second piece really........but it's done and I \m glad to be a part of this. Thanks for the chance to share.
a rusty tuba ! (unknowingly a mouse house lol) I don;tknow what I was thinking, but I got something done lol
it's supposed to be the reflections of the kids in the tuba, not sure if that comes across or not.
I was working on putting in a watercolor background but then it got all covered up and I went nuts coloring LoL. I know this isn't a critique thread but am wondering if it's too dark and or saturated? I have lighter versions. My eyes seem to get tired and then the eyes and maybe brain too don't think right anymore and I can't figure out what's the best version! One awesome thing about Photoshop is quickly changing hue, saturation, brightness, contrast but it's also kind of the worst sometimes too Anyhow it was fun I do like doing characters more than backgrounds! Gotta keep working on both tho
I haven’t worked on this for a few weeks but got back at it. I am adding different ethnicities or trying to anyhow. Just realizing I need another girl so I will turn one of the boys into a girl.
Evil kid by the ramp needs a total re-do lol. He’s freaking scary looking! And the crouching kid , especially his hands. I’ve not been using much reference for the kids so I just took a photo of my son crouched over that should help me figure out things, especially hands and arms. The girl with overalls is obviously needing finishing, especially face and arms. They’re also needing some adjustment on size relation between them. I have them on separate layers so can resize them and move them around. Im happy with the kid on the bike and pretty happy with the kid with the sign....I think lol
The kids are a bit hard to decipher from the trees I think?
Also are the bike and the flying kid too high do you think?
Open to any input thank you
I finished two pet portraits earlier this month. After a couple weeks of not being able to focus I'm trying to get back on track. I actually worked on my contest entry last night and this morning so that's something! Aiming to finish and I think it's ok enough but not super magical. Working on trying to get a bit of magic into it ️
@Lee-White it came today but not earlier. I don’t know why I don’t get the links initially. I typically ask for it and it gets to me on time anyhow so no worries. Ask and ye shall receive lol. Unfortunately I had to spend 4 hours clearing two feet of wet snow in the rain instead of watching.️ Hopefully timing of next event will work better, thanks for the reply and Lisa for emailing me the link today.
How do we get a link? I’ve missed the last couple days due to family stuff.
@EliaMurrayArt this is absolutely incredible!
@Shawna-Calder-Tenney this is so fun and totally super awesome
@eriberart it's very cute! I feel the same way. Stag safe!
Aww. I didn't know this. My kids and I love those books. I did some master studies recently of his horses....just sketches but I was trying to figure out ways of stylizing horses as I tend to do things too realistic, especially with horses.
I love your illustration. It's very touching to have those characters seeing him off.
Thanks for sharing and stay safe!
Cool. I might join if I can get my brain to focus!
