It's Official! I'm finally represented by Full Circle Literary agency and I could not be happier!

So to share a bit of my journey, I left my ex agent Advocate Art around the same time last year. My career was not advancing in that agency and after a couple of bad projects, I decided it's time to go. However, it was not smooth sailing after that. I applied to multiple agencies but no one would have me. I started having major doubts. Should I just have stayed? Should I give up illustration entirely? Definitely went into a depression during those months.
Luckily I have enough saved and I worked on some self-published books. Also a couple of clients from my time with my ex agent contacted me for work.
When the SCBWI Online Summer Conference came, it gave me the kick in the butt I needed to make new work. I tried a new style, combining aspects from my favorite artists. And unexpectedly I won in the Un-agented section. I also won the Ezra Jack Keats award for new BIPOC illustrators.
This was very helpful because one of the Prize was a call with Stefanie Sanchez von Borstel, one of the co-founder of Full Circle. We did the call but she wasn't looking for new children's book illustrators. Again I tried applying to other agents. Two agents contacted me but both fell thru. I then tried my luck with Full Circle but submitted to another agent, Taylor Martindale. I mentioned the call I made with her fellow agent just recently. I don't know if Stefanie vouched for me or anything but Taylor responded immediately and now we're here.
Full Circle is one of my dream agencies. They represent my favourite illustrators like Anoosha Syed and Christine Almeda. They are also a boutique agency which means they only have a handful of illustrators unlike my ex-agent, meaning they can give enough attention to their artists. I am just so happy to work with them. I am excited for the future.
I am so thankful to everyone here in SVS for helping me so far. If it weren't for you guys, I probably wouldn't have joined the showcase. You guys also encouraged me to keep making art. I'm so thankful to everyone.
