This is the first time I have done a character from so many angles. It was challenging, but a good experience. Mine is Grumpyeti. He is grumpy, but has a soft side hiding inside. I think there are so many clever takes on the Yeti for this contest. It is fun to see everyone's ideas.

RE: NOVEMBER CONTEST: TOGETHER
I combined Slovember, Will Terry's draw 50 things (included this after hearing Will Terry say during the 3 Point Perspective podcast that Slovember was a good time to do it) , and the Inktober prompt "storm" for the Together prompt this month. I am not done yet, but time has run out to turn this in. There are a lot of great illustrations, can't wait to see the slideshow!

RE: OCTOBER CONTEST: Everyone was having a great time at the Halloween feast until...
This was a fun prompt! I did a twist on the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale: What if Hansel and Gretel got lost while trick-or-treating? "Everyone was having a great time at the Halloween feast until the witch showed up."

RE: SEPTEMBER CONTEST: Ink Fairy
Here is my entry. I loved seeing all the different ideas that everyone came up with! I especially loved to see how people used ink traditionally or digitally; there are so many great techniques!

RE: JUNE CONTEST: A very different kind of prompt!
I love seeing everybody's different takes on the same prompt! This was one of my first attempts at digitally painting. My admiration for people who digitally paint has definitely increased!

Ink Fairy Feedback
Hi. I have been working on the ink fairy prompt for September, and would be grateful for some feedback. Initially I made the the first ink fairy picture at the beginning of the month and left it to finish later. When I came back to it, I realized that I liked another thumbnail so made that too. There were things that I liked on both of those, but not everything, so I then combined the stuff I liked from both. Now I am torn on which one to choose. Is there one of the three that works best for concept and composition? Thanks for any help! And kudos to those of you inking experts! It is harder than I thought it would be. I miss my pencil! I am hoping to improve my inking skills during Inktober.

Looking for Feedback on July Contests
Hi. I am pretty new to the forums and have only commented once or twice, and have only entered the contests a few times. I really like this forum because everyone is helpful and encouraging! It is a bit nerve-wracking to ask for feedback, isn't it? I had planned on posting in the earlier stages this month, but that obviously didn't happen. I did two versions of the same cover: one with full-color and one with just a little bit of color. If anyone would be willing to give me feedback to which one looks better that would be great! I am leaning toward the one without a lot of color (mostly because I am new to digital painting and feel like it shows and I really like simple designs), but it would be nice to get different opinions. Thanks!

RE: working on a book dummy - need some feedback for the cover design
This is looking really good! I think the colors are nice, and to me it's okay that the animals are not the exact color they are in real life. The typography is cool. All the animals are silhouetted nicely, but I have a hard reading the elephant because the greenish color behind it is the same value. When I squint, I have a hard time seeing the part that is on the green.

RE: DECEMBER CONTEST: YETI
@KristyM Maybe your file is too big or not saved in the right format? I believe that the file can only be so big, but I can't remember the size. The longest side can only be up to 1200 px. How big is your file? Are you saving it as a jpg or png file (not sure if you can post other type of files or not, but I have uploaded jpegs and png files). What program are you using to do the artwork? Someone on the forums mat be using the same program and can help you. If you use Photoshop then you can export it, save for the web, and change how many pixels it is and the size will be reduced.

RE: working on a book dummy - need some feedback for the cover design
I agree with the others. I like "A" with the light background best because it was easy to see and read the text. It also had small, medium, and large items in it. My eye was drawn to it. "B" is also nice. "A" with the dark background looks cool to me from a graphic design point of view and I actually like the placement of the title around the hat, but it is hard to read. Like what was said before, people may not be okay with the animals in a cage.
