Thanks for all the critiques everyone, it's a big help. There are some great pieces of work this month and hopefully I can finish it on time, I'm trying to finish my Conner Mcgregor caricature before the fight so finding time is a bit hard 😕

@tombarrettillo I like the torches on x too, if I can work them in without the scene been too busy i'll try to. I always have a hard time deciding on which I personally like best. I agree about the added tension in A with the small hole, i'll try and work that style into the final piece

@NoWayMe great advice with the light sources, I didn't notice about the guy not been in the center, he looks more to the right than the left to me though. It must be my eyes 🙂

@Jose-Ramos thanks for the paintover, I think that style works pretty well. I'm gonna have to steal the sparkly rays of water idea 😛

@Katrina-Fowler I like your idea for #4, it would take a bit of a rework, but it's a great idea that I might use for the future, maybe have a few empty microwave trays scattered about the floor 😛

@Tyson-Ranes thanks 🙂 I'm trying to try work up an illustration portfolio. I mainly painted portraits/caricatures, so being part of the SVS forum has really helped teach me a lot about illustration 🙂

@suzy-heitz I love this! The only thing that might need a tweak is her right leg (our left) the knee needs to look more bent. Maybe just a bit of shading below the short line and some to make the knee look a bit more like it's poking out?

I was thinking a drum set even before I read @TessW comment. : ) Or you could make the box truck into a van kind of like in Wimpy Kid (Loded Diaper), and have a band name poorly painted on the side. How about an old couch in the front yard.

I like it. The arrow pointing toward the spider is good. Since you have taken it this direction with the spider now worried/scared, I would put his left leg up on the branch and the other on the trunk of the tree and bring him in closer as if he is balancing and straining to see what is in the book. Add a title to the front cover of the book so the books orientation makes more sense. Really like how this is developing.

I appreciate ya! The more I look at them and think things through, I kind of want to a zombie thing now. It would be fun to do with the chewed pieces. And maybe instead of a Sucker, I could play with a piece of gum that was once packaged in foil. Like the old school gum...ie double mint, juicy fruit, or big red gum.

@tessw I think what was missing before was exactly what you added in this version: the facial expressions of the animals. I love this. I also agree with making the boy a bit older, to keep it light. The piece reminds me a lot of one of my favorite illustrators (Michael Sowa) who often skirts the edge of creepy and humorous. https://www.wikiart.org/en/michael-sowa

Thanks so much for reviewing the art pieces. I do see the things you point out and will work on those. I really like how you pushed the dragon's skin and the staff the girl is holding in my image more. I will work on that and think about it all with my next artworks. 🙂

Yeah, that pose it wacky....lol....definitely reworking that. Really should have done a couple thumbnails...this is what happens when you jump straight in. Thanks for all the good advice and kind words. Will work on tying the two pages together better. Trying to keep this dummy all spots and vignettes, and keep the art loose so I'm able to finish it quickly. Goal is to just get something finished. I have so many projects 3/4 of the way done....just can't seem to get to the finish line. Always get bored or go back and think it's all crap and throw it away....

@gary-wilkinson Yes when I paint the snake he will be darker I made him green because I want him to be less noticeable to the view at first and the direction of the frog's eyes are the device that helps move you to there, when I up the saturation on the frog's red gee it will become the main focal point (hopefully). As for the pose it is a combination of studies from tree frogs and Tai chi training, tree frogs have an amazing ability to stick to be flexible and stick to objects,
