RE: NOVEMBER COMPETITION TOPIC: SLOW
My Slowvember for this month: "Staying Up Late." This has been on my plate for a long time so it was nice to finally call it finished, at least for now! This is the first part of a series of 3, about a young boy in the 1960's who loves aviation, who then goes to bed and has a crazy dream involving his stuff animals, and flying. Currently on the middle painting where he doses off to sleep. Oh and yes the TV is babysitting in this scene lol. Good to be back here on svs!
Thanks for the prompt Lee!
RE: Putting together my first illustration portfolio and looking for feedback
@StudioLooong Just here to say Nice work fellow Ackerman! #samelastname
Assessment of my work
Hi SVS, it has been a little over a year as a subscriber here and I thought it's time to do an assessment of my work, but with help from you. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you view my work from my "svs past" so that I can tighten up my "svs future"? Also I’m trying to see which are strong portfolio pieces.
Please comment on what I should work on? Exploring more through the sketch phase is what I need to do more but what else? I know color choices could be beefed up. Mainly, I would like to get better and what better way than through my svs peers! Thanks in advance! Todd
RE: Our SVS virtual studio
@burvantill great idea!
I have been going at this project for quite some time now, I have always admired the show Mad Men, and wanted to put my mind into a frame of mind for the....Draw 50things challenge, but early 1960's style...trying to fill the shelves for sure. So many straight lines to consider!
All in all, I have an imaginary sequence done, but wanted to connect the story.
RE: JULY SVS ILLUSTRATION CONTEST TOPIC: HIDDEN
Hidden entry for July "The Burglar's Spa Moment" I was inspired by some bathroom wall art at my parents house, there is was hanging on the wall, a mouse and a shower bucket mechanism. I thought well what if some critter came in and used this nifty hidden shower space! A raccoon immediately came to mind:) Nice job all, some "hidden" talent! -Todd
