You should be able to get in there I'm sure. it's the first time the class is running, so we will see how high demand is.

@evilrobot When i first saw the image i thought that the poor fisherman is in for a terrible surprise......but i am wondering if he himself is the terrible surprise - very spooky image - nicely done!

Well I think I got the monitor calibration taken care of. Not sure until I look at this on other computers. It looks pretty good on both my cintiq and my 2nd monitor but who knows it could still be too dark or too bright. Lovely! You really get a sense of a relaxing warm sun! And the overall texture is vey nice.

@mattramsey Thanks for the input Matt, the last 3 images are just pure lighting studies in different situations and not focusing on Overcast and Exposed. I need to work on overexposed haha, kind of tricky from pure imagination.

Wow. I really like the whole thing, but that tree in the background has me especially impressed. Is that graphite? The detail is amazing.

@Rich-Green thanks for the kind words. Fun thing is I didn't a lot of time noodling over it like I do with my other pieces. Maybe that's the secret trick not to over work it.

Thank you everyone for the input. I think I should not avoid using black totally, and I agree you are right about the right time to use black 🙂 as I got pretty good feedback from my other social media.

@Chip-Valecek Thanks for the feedback! I like your idea of making the bats different sizes to seem like they are different distances from the witch, I’ll give it a try. I see what you’re saying about the brightness of the bottom of her face, I guess I was afraid of it looking like she had a beard haha. I’ll see if I can tone it down 🙂

I’m kind of terrible at colour and light (something I’m working on) so I really appreciate your suggestion of the cool/warm lights at the top and bottom. Time for me to get back to work and make this piece clearer 🙂 I really enjoyed your 3rd Thursday entry last month too, you have such a distinct style of working!
