@Braden-Hallett Awesome as always! Not sure why I want the mice to be crafty little mutineers on a pirate ship and the lady to be the pirate captain....but i do

RE: Color Critique
@jdubz Very nice piece - I like how the face of the girl is modeled in the first image - the second image is flatter which may be more realistic on a snowy day but I do like the first a bit more - I like the snowflakes in the second image - the one in front of her upper arm in the first one is very high contrast and draws the eye - color is not my strong point but for feedback I would say maybe the background purple at the horizon should not be the most saturated thing on the image - i think saving the higher saturation for where you really want us to spend our time might be good - maybe sneaking subtle color into the grey of the wolf and lighting it a bit would be Interesting? One last thing is that it looks a bit like the wolf and the girl are looking in slightly different directions - I’m guessing that is intentional - might be cool to lower the girl’s gaze just a bit? I look forward to seeing where this goes
RE: Slowvember: Macbeth. Feedback on thumbnails
@robgale These are great! 3 is very striking - it evokes Goya's Los Disparates. Number 1 is nice too - for some reason i want see the dagger straight up and down and not pointing diagonally toward the corner...maybe to make it more of a graphic style?? ...not sure - 4 is a great concept too - evokes Kurosawa's Macbeth "Throne of Blood" ..... so i guess 3,1 and 4 ...but mostly 3
RE: Going Digital ... Feedback, please!
@Meta I think this is looking good! Not sure if you are looking for critique of the image or not? I did a quick cut and paste/draw over thing of your bottom image to show the three minor things I am thinking. It looks like maybe her left eye (our right) has been squeezed in a bit too close to the nose - possibly to fit the space left over by the hair. I duplicated the left side of the image and flipped it to give a symmetrical location for the eye - the other thing I was thinking was mentioned by @Heather-Boyd - I think in the case of skin tones it is pretty safe to go warmer as you go darker - I may have gone too warm in the cut and paste image but I think there is something worth exploring maybe (also sneaking the reds in as close to the green eyes as possible really made them pop (complimentary colors)) last think was the hair almost touching the edge of the canvas really grabs my eye so I warped it back on itself (I love procreate!) to get rid of the tangent - feel free to ignore this post of course just checked out your Instagram - some really nice stuff!
RE: PODCAST FEEDBACK NEEDED
@Amanda-Bancroft Have you ever seen this interview? It is with Jorge Gutierrez of "Book of Life" fame - he did not know he was on the spectrum until he was an adult and he speaks of the strengths that it gives him in the interview - one of bobby's best interviews i think - i've watched it more than once myself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAkVOqn6MSs
RE: PODCAST FEEDBACK NEEDED
@Lee-White I love the 3 Point Perspective podcasts and think this could be a great one - I think that ruminating on the subject for the podcast is not such a good idea though - my feeling is that you should have a very solid idea of what you want to add to the discussion and not do too much devil's advocate stuff. I think that talking about what we can and cannot draw would not be a helpful addition to this topic. Talking about and focusing on why we Are talking about it is much more helpful and important. What is at the root of this conversation is what is important and understanding this can help each illustrator make their own informed decisions about what they should be comfortable with.
RE: Video Portfolio review from Giuseppe Castellano - really helpful!!
I was hoping this would be helpful for folks! - i think i would have done this sooner if i had a better sense of what it would be. I was definitely worried about what i might hear.
@animatosoor I do need to write an "about me" statement...not good at talking about myself. I need to get over that.
@LauraA The OZ series was started way back when there was an oz character redesign challenge for 3rd Thursday...2 or 3 years ago? - i've just kept at it for some reason:) WetTransfer is new to me too but it is just as Taylor describes.
Video Portfolio review from Giuseppe Castellano - really helpful!!
I just did the 60$ portfolio review from the "Illustration Department" website. For me it was incredibly helpful. I posted an unlisted video on my youtube channel for any SVS'rs that were interested in seeing what they might get from a review - I checked with SVS to make sure they were ok with me posting it here and they are cool with it (of course and Giuseppe is cool with it too.
The video that Giuseppe sent me was sent via wet transfer
Here is the video of my portfolio review.
