Irish Superstition: To stave off sorrow a solo magpie brings to its passerby, another brings joy.
I am very happy how this turned out. The subject matter is very close to my heart this past year. I hope you like it.

First time I am joining a svs competition! -
@dkroese This is gorgeous-love love love!

Here ya go! My superstition is a mirror one. if you put two mirrors in front of each other, you open a threshold for the devil (Some variations are ghosts, whitches, other supernatural things)
-
@Aleksey Nice! That turned out really well

Here's my entry for this months challenge!
This particular superstition of hanging lemon and chillis outside the entrances of homes, shops etc. is still very commonly practiced in many parts of India.
(The scientific logic behind it is actually a DIY insect repellant used in ancient times). -
@Adriana-Ancel
Very nice, I like the additions and happy you joined in.

@dkroese this is great. I love the look of your girls and the spooks. Color palette is perfect. Nice work.

@Su so clever. I love the simplicity of it yet yet there is such good story telling in it. Nice!

A cracked looking glass has turned Alice’s wonderland into a superstition-land, mostly bad, but a glimmer of hope with the glimpse of a rabbit’s foot.
-
@holleywilliamson that is a really clever take on this. I would read that story.
-
@chrisaakins thanks so much!

This one is packed full of various superstitions like a four leaf clover, wishbone, horseshoe, bamboo, rabbits foot, dreamcatcher, lucky dice, bird pooping on you, ladybug, goldfish (said to attract luck and prosperity), turtle (considered lucky, due to their long lifespans), in Germany, lucky pigs ("Glücksschwein") are often given as tokens to wish friends and family a happy and lucky New Year, a penny with the head side up, the color red is considered lucky in Chinese culture, and an acorn for some more luck. Oh and of course the bad luck omen of a black cat crossing your path.
