@Eric-Castleman I did it last year for the first time. I went with a theme. I did a character from Nightmare before xmas each day. I wrote down which one I would do each day to be ready to go.

I want to! I'm not aure really what it is though. Darw somwthign for 30 days in ink? Is ther a site that explains anything more?

I am doing Inktober this year for the first time and I have had a completely crazy idea, for which I am blaming myself nearly every day. I decided to do a short graphic novel of a story I had written more than 2 years ago. At the current count, this will end up at 19 pages, and I am doing the pencils right now....which is eating up nearly all my studio time (minus Third Thursday and the portrait job I am working on...). I am not even sure this is in scope for the challenge - I was planning to ink half a page every day in October, or a full page every second day.
I can't stop thinking that this is the dumbest idea I have ever had (for many reasons), but now I am sticking with it to the bitter end.... -
I should do it. I always hated inking because I couldn't get smooth lines. My line would get all wobbly even though I don't have shaky hands!

I've also decided to do it this year for the first time. Going to use it to get my traditional art skills in shape after years of digital work.

I definitely plan on doing this again! I learned so much! Inktober has a big following on Instagram, and create your own thread here! We tried doing one big thread last year, but it got so massive that it was hard to see the new posts hehe.

I'm also planning on doing Inktober for the first time this year. This thread has got me wondering what I'm actually going to draw (so I can avoid that blank-page-got-to-fill-it-anxiety...) ..and now I'm making a list of ideas. I think I'm actually going to do some fan art, for the first time since I was a teenager - I've seen a lot of fun stuff around, and maybe this will be the time to have some fun myself and try it out on my favourite characters. And I wrote down 'hands'..a weak spot of mine that I'd like to improve on (just to mix in a little bit of 'should do it' along with the 'fun' stuff...). And dragons..there must be dragons. By October I should have a schedule...

I plan on doing it as well for the first time! I'm really excited! Just got my supplies today for it. I'm probably going to make a list too @Dulcie. It's definitely a good idea, that way I don't get overwhelmed by trying to think up stuff each day. Can't wait to see everyone's!

I think this is a fab idea,and i think it would help focus me! Not had any further thoughts on what I'm going to do,may do a a few one min sketches and some longer considerations,would live to do some monoprints,that ink after all...not sure if I want to have a them yet,or build an eclectic mix,decisions decisions

Really nice to be part of this forum.xxx!. This will be my first time trying it so hope I can find enough time to fit it in.
It will be great to know that by the end of October I will have 30 new drawings.
