RE: Photoshop brush/eraser lag
I have a brand new RTX 2060 and can run games like Monster Hunter World and Anthem (I know Anthem has its own performance issues) just fine. I set Ps to use the GPU. I opened the task manager performance panel while working and the CPU spikes between 12-16%. GPU is spiking at 2%? I made the brush 500px and it lagged so hard during that test. I'm so confused. I can't upgrade my CPU right now. Too much $ and I'd like to get a new board at the same time because they're both a couple years old now.
And I really don't want to switch my brush That's absurd if I can run a graphics heavy online video game but one brush stroke doesn't work. Is this a Windows 10/ Wacom/ Adobe issue?
Photoshop brush/eraser lag
Hey all. So I think I have a pretty good pc setup and I recently upgraded my graphics card and RAM but I'm having lag issues in Ps. I have stayed at Ps version 19 because the brush lag in version 20 makes working impossible. Since upgrading my pc, my brush lag isn't as bad as it used to be but the eraser lag is driving me nuts. I'll erase and it will stop, give me the rotating circle, catch up on erasing and then switch to brush and scribble where it should have been erasing. Here's what I'm using:
Windows 10 64bit
Photoshop CC (v 19.1.7)
Wacom Cintiq 22 HDT with stock pen
Intel i7-4770 CPU @3.4GHz
GeForce RTX 2060
I should also mention I'm using a Kyle Webster brush and eraser. I tried turning off smoothing but that didn't help. Oh and besides lag, my brush tilt falls off every time I switch between Ps and another window. To turn it back on I have to go into the Wacom utilites and turn off "Use Windows Ink" and then turn it back on. Every.Single.Time.
It's all really frustrating. Is it just me?
RE: Job Opportunity - Children Illustrator
I found that HGChildrens one a few days ago and tried to do some research. The post makes it sound like the work is coming from a company that produced a series of books. Really it's one author named Hina Gupta. I found one book on Amazon about a dog named Coco. Also the compensation being royalties? No thanks.
RE: 30 Day challenge - monsters, robots and aliens
Ugh Judy, I love all of these so much. You could sell the heck out of them. Print them on everything!
Feb Love WIP - wow I've been gone for a while
Hi! I haven't posted in quite a long time. I recently had an agent tell me that I NEED more defined backgrounds in my portfolio, so, here's me trying to make that happen. I've been using a pastel brush for a long time and I love it but it fuzzes everything out. I'm trying to get some harder edges in there. First is where I'm at now, second is an older and fuzzier version and last is the sketch. I'd love to hear any crits!
