Introducing myself

Hi Everyone,
I've recently joined and have been reading everyone's forum posts, so thought it was time I joined in.
I found SVS on instagram, then devoured ALL the podcasts, and took the leap and signed up.
About me: I work full time as a lead designer in a graphic design studio in Melbourne, Australia. I have always wanted to illustrate. I remember convincing friends to make books together when I was probably about 8 years old! Now I have a 5 year old daughter, suddenly our house has been filled with kids books, which has been really inspiring.
I have tried to keep my hand in with illustration over the years, always thinking I needed a little help, maybe a course - which seemed impossible when I work full time. Then, enter SVS learn.
Below is a snapshot of my progress - I am hoping to participate in the monthly prompts, but am finding myself hopelessly behind schedule for both December/January... we'll see.
I'm only on instagram, which is all I can almost keep up with... @bold_archer

I really, really, like that one in May. Yes I recognize your growth as an artist. But honestly I find beauty in imperfection and I am a traditional artist. That May one rocks.

@Shane-Lees Thank you Shane - trying to strike a balance with authentic line-work marks and technically 'better' rendering.
I've used a very small selection of brushes and attempted to keep the authentic line-work in the details. Perhaps a little more linework should be incorporated in my next piece!

@Pamela-Fraley Thank you Pamela, my goal is to have an illustration portfolio ready by mid-year. So, fingers crossed. At the moment I'm listening to 20 mins of lessons in the morning, an hour or so after kids bed time... Sneaking in bits and pieces where-ever I can!
