Calling for the November ALL STARS!!!
-
Hey all you All Stars, where are your submissions! I didn't receive any emails with your submissions. If you created a submission this month please upload it to this thread. I am currently working on creating the slideshows for this month.
Thanks!!!
-
@Chip-Valecek Lisa Faught said we have until the 9th to upload.
-
@burvantill well in that case post your work here by the 9th
-
@Chip-Valecek Ah shoot yeah I totally missed that part originally. I had posted mine in the normal prompt thread, so I'll pull it out of there and drop it in here.
-
Alrighty here is mine. Together - even with all of our differences, inherent or perceived, we can get together and celebrate being thankful
-
-
@Chip-Valecek sorry Chip!! I forgot to mention that! We gave the all stars a little more time since their Critique Arena is a week later
-
@LisaF theyโre lucky duckies!
Cool idea and canโt wait!

Hey, I do not know if it is a legitimate submission if I submit a personal piece I have created earlier this year. I really want to participate in the all-stars contest because I think it is a fun idea and I wanted to support it. But deadlines ran over my life at this moment, and I do not have the mental space for personal work.
Here is a piece I created during the first week of the lockdown in March this year. I try to capture a glimpse of the time we spent together home together with my daughter. As much as the unknown and fear shocked us (adults), my toddler daughter had the best time in her entire life - as she got to spend 24 hours a day with me. I drew while she took her nap during the first week of the lockdown.
-
You'll have mine by 11:59:59 on the night of the ninth and not a second sooner, Chip!
-
Here we go! I'm calling this done. Not as much of a tutorial as my previous (Lisa) one - but there is a thread showing a glimpse into some of my creations.
This was a fun one. I only started it around the 20th of November so it was a pretty fast build! I was fortunate to have some things pre-fabricated so that I could focus on the characters and little details.
"The fire crackled as the little bears gathered to hear a story. Pop-pop's voice growled low as he turned the pages. It had been a hard year, but on this night they felt close to each other again."

Was it just me who was completely stumped this time around? This was agonizing. The open-ended prompts are soooo tough. I completed a cute little illustration of a little girl having a tea party with all her stuffed animal friends, but it was too cliche' so I tried to think of something a little more creative than just being together. So tough. Good luck to everyone! I love the few I see so far!
-
Done! Now to start drawing some more yetis
-
@kimmypie Haha nice!
Agreed! I spent so long agonizing over ideas that I didn't leave myself much time to actually make something
-
@kimmypie I hear you, this one was hard. I think your tea party illustration would have worked great. I also think the one you went with is awesome and totally unexpected which is cool!! I went the opposite direction and after trying and failing to think of something not cliche, I just gave in! I cringe every time I look at mine now, it feels like a Kinkade painting haha
-
@EliaMurrayArt oh my gosh! this is amazing!
-
@kimmypie I had a tough time on the illustration part. It's like my brain decided to completely forget how to art properly. I'm hoping I pulled it off in the end. You did! This is cute. Nice concept.

Together In Trouble
Time outs are so much more tolerable when your partner in crime is with you.
=)x -
@EliaMurrayArt this is so beautiful and well done! Very professional work. Did you paint over a pic of your diorama?
