RE: AUGUST CONTEST: Dragonfly
I have been learning silently from SVSLearn. Here’s my first entry.
The front of my car has an embarrassing amount of smushed bugs on it. Sometimes they get lucky.

Things didn’t go so well for the Pumpkin family.

RE: Calling for the November ALL STARS!!!
Was it just me who was completely stumped this time around? This was agonizing. The open-ended prompts are soooo tough. I completed a cute little illustration of a little girl having a tea party with all her stuffed animal friends, but it was too cliche' so I tried to think of something a little more creative than just being together. So tough. Good luck to everyone! I love the few I see so far!

Serious critique requested for Oct. contest
Here’s what I’ve got so far. I would love some feedback in whatever area you see needs help but specifically I’d like to know if
-the idea is clear
-the composition is working
-color is working
-character design needs helpThanks!

WIP Together feedback please
Hi everyone,
I would really love some feedback. This is my prompt for “Together”.
The idea is that the little girl is looking up to her mom and trying to imitate her. Ignore the red shoes. They’re just a place holder but they may stay.
Questions:
Should I make it simple and leave the back ground plain?
Which composition looks/reads better? Is the newspaper lady distracting? Is she unnecessary? Should the chair just be empty?Any other feedback is welcome.
Thanks! -

Here’s a little more progress. Any thoughts or obvious issues?

RE: Halloween Feast Rough and Value Study
@Coreyartus I agree with @Jonathan-Malski about the pumpkin. I think that made me read the image as she was inside and they were outside. The bricks normally are on the outside of the house so that’s what my mind went to first.
I think adding more inside details may help to make it read more clearly. Also, if you keep the inside warm and the outside cool it would make their location clear too. Good luck! Cute idea. -
RE: Front Cover WIP
@MattBaker @Gary-Wilkinson That’s a valid point Matt. When looking at book covers, especially for children’s books, saturation is probably going to turn some heads faster.
I still think there needs to be a way to separate the two worlds, however he chooses to solve the problem. Maybe desaturation isn’t the solution. At this stage there’s a lot invested and it’s hard to make changes. I’m curious to see how it turns out in the end, even if he does leave it exactly as is. It’s still strong. -
RE: Faux Inktober Sketches
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I love seeing all your sketches. It's nice seeing behind the scenes.

RE: Calling for the November ALL STARS!!!
@EliaMurrayArt you did a great job with your little creatures. The image is warm and inviting. There's evidence of a lot of work in it too. Also, Thomas Kinkade made a lot of money lol.

RE: Calling for the November ALL STARS!!!
@miranda-hoover that's exactly what happened to me. I had three complete pieces. This is the one I went with.
Yours looks great. Love the mood and such a cute yeti. Who knew it would be the next prompt? -

@Gaelle-Grizzly LOL love this! Great idea. I like the sweat drop on the fox and the animals holding up branches. SO cute!

RE: WIP Together feedback please
@ruth thanks so much for the reply. I was thinking the same about the other lady. I will play with color to see if I can minimize her presence. That may not be enough to keep her from being a distracting element. I’ll try a few things.
