So I usually follow the inktober prompts, but I was really inspired by how many people have used inktober to complete a project. I am planning on doing a dark weird short comic based on Alice in wonderland. I did some character designs and practiced a little in ink just to get back into the rhythm of it. I have about half of the comic pages penciled and I wanted to share of few of those with you guys as well. The comic will be 31 pages and I will ink a page each day in October. This is a big project for me and I am both very excited and terrified. I will post more of my prep work in this thread as I go.

@K-Flagg This is too cool and right up my alley! I love your dynamic ink drawings. I can't wait to see your progress on this project. It's a hefty goal, but I think the reward of doing this would be ten fold! Good luck! 😃

I played with some ink washes and tested a bunch of ink pens and how they hold up to bleeding when wet. I also wanted to test how much water my Canson Bristol paper could handle, as expected ....not a lot. But I wanted to post my tests because it might help people who are playing with ink or trying to buy ink products.

@K-Flagg how big are you working? I’m doing a comic as well and the paper size i should use is throwing me off.

@jaepereira I am using the traditional comic size pages that are 11x17. I originally envisioned a square format but I thumbnailed the whole book that way and some of my favorite scenes I was excited about didn't really work as well in a square so I switched it up. I suggest thumbnails first and make sure it lays out how you want. Also I know I have the time right now to do full 11x17 pages. The bigger your pages are the more time you will need so I would keep that in mind also when making your decision 🙂
