JANUARY CONTEST: The tracks in the snow were unlike anything Will had ever seen before.

@Serena also "where" should be "were?" Hope you don't mind me pointing it out. I wouldn't want anyone to miss out because of text errors especially with such a sweet illustration

@Braden-Hallett I just noticed that Penny's dog is his pet. Genetic engineering I guess?

Ok...I know that this is not a proper submission, but I really wanted to commit to showing up every month for 2020 . That is why I am adding this sketch and value study for my intended piece to show I had this contest on my mind
I imagined Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights) standing outside at night and gazing up at the house and Catherine's room. I tried to shape the house like a heart to convey the idea that these new tracks in the snow are actually the tracks that love have left in his heart and soul.

It's literally the same dog. It just gets a body upgrade every few years (or every few days that one time when penny got the mixture wrong).

I'm so glad I found this in time. This image was partly inspired by the snow-printing artist Simon Beck, who usually chooses some variation of sacred geometry or interesting shapes to carve out of freshly fallen snow. This was a fun project, looking forward to next month's!
P.S. Glad to be a part of what seems like an awesome community.
