hi everyone! So I was going to submit this piece as seen below but @rubeda made a great point about adding smoke effects so I decided to add a last minute mist and I really like the new look. This is it for the medusa piece. I'm tired and really stressed but so relieved it's over. thanks for all the help everyone!

Meet Liam and Lancelot that will join me this inktober! I am not going to be able to join the September contest this time but I will still be doing inktober. It will be my first time trying out the challenge and I hope I can complete it. Great fun seeing everyones inktober charcters for the contest!

@chrisaakins @charitymunoz This is basically what I did this Inktober. I'd just like to not that there is ink, which dissolves in water once dried; and indian ink which stays as it is. For this technique you need indian ink, otherwise you wash away your drawing or painting with every new layer.
Chris, I saw both of your coloring techniques. And liked more the copic version. Good thing about the digitally colored illustrations is that you don't loose color information with fotography. If it is better when looking cleaner, or less clean, is a question of taste and the story you want to tell, I guess.

@Lee-White That’s a relief. It’s a topic that is thrown in our faces even to the point of having “teacher training” workshops and how we must (not “should”) handle it.

I’d love to know how to illustrate a disability that is not so “obvious”. Dechenne’s Muscular Dystrophy (my grandnephew has it...before they become wheel chair bound), depression, anxiety, diabetes, all of those “unseen” handicaps.

I believe @Whitney-Simms is referencing Tyrus Goshay. He and Will had a wonderfully spirited and insightful video where race was explored. Tyrus by the way is a wonderful illustrator who is black.

I’d also love to know how we get our work PAST the commercial characters that @demotlj was referring to. There is so much more interesting life out there besides Disney!

@Lucky-Platt @demotlj We hear you loud and clear and totally agree! We are working on a number of things to address this (and have been for the past few years!). The more diversity the better!
