@Mel-F It's looking great! I love the bats especially. 😍 Good overlapping while keeping them dark-on-light.
I feel like the frog is a bit of an odd-one-out: he looks a bit more realistic than all the other animals.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of this book!

Hey y'all, i made another piece applying what i learned from my troll hill study and i wanted to share it here.

Putting it next to the study helps me see just how desaturated i was working in sthe study, even though i was already outside of my comfort zone trying to work light and bright 😂 crazy how that goes.

I actually really tried to watch for tangents (after watching the last htfya) but somehow I got lost in the painting process 😆

I edited a bit and tried to blend the door more with the room using darker shadows.

The idea with the moon I really like! The next time I am going to think a bit more about what to use.

@R-Fey-Realme Thank you! That sounds great! I had planned to type it up (on an old typewriter) then cut it out untidily and stick it in, but forgot to do that earlier on in the process. But your idea sounds way better anyway! 😄

@makekong I just uploaded the updated version of the book with the contrast filter removed. 🙂 I'm not sure if Amazon sent it out yet, but feel free to let me know if Amazon gives you any notification alert on that.

I also updated the review request page. Looks like it was confusing some people when I put it in the middle. So I put it at the end instead. 🙂

@Geoffrey-Mégardon totally understand, just as fyi, dreamhost is currently charging 3 usd a month for the first year and the domain is around 14 usd. I use it because it allows you to have multiple websites hosted so Im currently hosting 4 for that price. The toocheke template is free for the basic functionality

But yeah the wix works and offers the perks you need now. You can even add gumroad links to sell any digital stuff without having to pay the wix marketplace fee

While they all have potential individually, I feel the cockatrice piece might fit the challenge better.

@allysa telling this story in only 4 frames is no small task, and I think you are doing loads right. Your main character looks very consistent to me, and also very recognisable. But if you want a tip, it is a good idea to come up with a "formula" for the character. A series of basic shapes that you can refer back to. This was the technique I used for a graphic novel I did, and it helped keep the characters consistent. The only other advice I can give for compositions is to do LOADS of thumbnails. I love rendering too, but I spend about 80% of my time on the sketching/idea phase. It actually saves me time in the long run. I like the vibe you've got going in your images, so I'm looking forward to seeing how you're going to problem solve this one! Quick thought... Is it possible to do inserts/cutaways within a given frame, to help cram more info/narrative into the illustration? Or do you want to stick to one big illustration per frame?
