@Brett I love Ralph Steadman! He's from my home city of Liverpool too. I know he uses mostly ink brushes with nibs. And gets the splats with a spray diffuser that you just pop in a pot of ink and gently blow it out through the mouthpiece. A manual airbrush for the more personal touch.

@miranda-hoover Thank you for the feedback! I showed the drawing to a few family members and, from a distance, they couldn't make out where his arm was either; I think I need to put more effort into making sure the design remains visible/readable throughout the image, as all the small details of his arm really make it congested in certain areas, I think. Thanks again!

My hunt for an affordable but high-performing brush pen set led me to this one. It’s a 12-piece brush pen set that comes with small to large-point brushes, great for the versatile artist and calligraphy. I thought that’s a great deal for its relatively low price.

Hey everyone! Long time no post, school is crazy, being an engineering student and making art on the side is even crazier! Just wanted to post this piece I'm really happy with. The assignment was creating depth through perspective, atmospheric perspective, layering, etc. I decided to focus on good old one point perspective and I wanted to make something a little surreal. Let me know what you think!

The first area I plan to redouble my efforts on, is my early sketches / exploration / and composition. I really get impatient to get on with inking and other aspects, and I know I could come up with stronger compositions, visual "story", etc...

Hi Ben! Since others have mentioned color and mediums, I thought I might mention the pose. Right now the character is very off balanced, do to her stance, and the fact that her feet don't seem to be on the same plane. People normally stand with their weight shifted to one leg, which your character seems to be doing, but her leg is too far out to support her. Also, the above shoulder tends to come down towards the raised (weight bearing) hip in order to counter balance, but hers is going away from the hip instead. Since that sounds way too complicated written out I did a quick paintover to explain what I mean. Hope that helps!
