Absolutely incredible... I love studying both Norman Rockwell and JC Leyendecker. Such good storytelling and excellent illustration chops. Thank you for posting! And you noted the time it took you? LOVE it...
I decided to go with D, and I just launched into it. I'm hoping folks can tell me if things are pulling focus and interest. I"m worried there's too much texture in the tree, perhaps, and I need to do something a bit more substantial to the path he's standing on...
@aprilshin I decided to change the boy's facial expression a bit, and have him looking upward with a "sorta" grin... I think that was stronger than the "I'm lonely" vibe I think I was going for... Does that make things a bit clearer? Or at least less complicated?
@evilrobot good points thanks... I never really thought about where they are exactly I was so focused on there poses, I need to have a think about that thanks. Good luck with yours.
Here's the latest version of me playing with this image... still want to try painting it.
Probably not going to be able to continue subscribing to SVS... I have loved being a part of the community. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement I have received here. you guys are great!
@TessW Thank you so much! I don't mind! Yeah your paintover is a great improvement to it! I agree that this helps the focal point a lot! Thank you for your feedback!!
@eric-castleman oh! XD that's funny! I made a post to grab any forum admin to possibly explain why I can't post images, hopefully I'll get an answer. I cant even delete posts
Hello and welcome your painting is really cute I love it,but I do agree with Art dud I think his paws could be a bit bigger. This is a lovely idea and i like the seagull studying him.
Well, I have this to show with my dummy for right now. Might do a bit more as I look it over for the next day or two but, hopefully it will do the trick. Are the shirt and chicken too white? It's my current skill level anyway. Just 15 more spreads to go.......
@Kevin-Longueil Thank you. Yes, I was trying to hide the knees, I really didn't work them in from the start. I'll work on making them more correct. Glad you like it!
@emma-scheltema It was mention regarding perspective, but the buildings/houses seem to converge too tightly. Perhaps more (smaller in perspective) animals should be in the back along side one another. It looks so tight that the elephant could not have fit through the space, let alone alone side other animal. It is an awesome concept.
It's looking nice 🙂 I'm on the iPad so can't upload images but I'd check out the concept art for Disneys Brother Bear, they have wonderful shapes for the bears! I'd keep playing with the characters in different positions and situations to really help bring out their characters, by repetition you'll refine the designs. Remember the three basic design shapes, a circle shows easy going, friendly characters, a square shows stern, stubborn characters and triangles show energetic, edgy characters. Keep up the good work! 😃
sarahelliott489 and julian beresford , thanks so much!
TessW Thanks a lot for your words!
Andyg Don´t hate me dude!, thanks
rcartwright Yes, I agree about the cat´s head, maybe I didn´t use any reference for this one. 🙂 maybe if I play with the tool transform I can fix it a little bit.
Maybe the face is better like this?, I´m not sure 😞
