Just a lookin' for some feedback here if you've got the time. Criticisms are always more than welcome. What stood out as most off to me was the main cast shadow and the flat black background. Tips on correcting this would be much appreciated too though I know I still have many classes and much practice ahead of me.

Also, I know this is supposed to be for my portfolio but I don't feel at all happy with the style and would prefer not to get work doing these less textured and less painterly digital feeling pieces. Does anybody have advice on that? Would something of this sort be good to revisit later when I have more style or should I maybe just chalk this up to learning and keep moving forward? Thanks again!
P.s. I should note that I am only a couple months into digital painting and haven't explored a ton yet. (Currently I'm watching Marco Bucci's demos and soon will dive into Lee's paintbrush designing class to explore textures.)
