showcasing our process?
-
@burvantill I love your process images from the bear. I would love to see more of your process.
@Braden-Hallett I would probably do the same as you, have a photoshop file set up, and turn on/off layers to talk about the process. I would very much like to share if the event is not happening in the middle of the night in my time zone (I think I am 7 hours ahead of EST time zone )Talking about show casing process, I just want to share this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHP70B56EGcDaniel Miyares is an artist I have been following for a while. He inspired me to pick up Sumie brush for painting. I did a bunch of ink wash painting for last inktober, and I looked his sketches carefully, and always wanted to see him live painting. Now he started a youtube channel, showing exactly that :-).
-
@Braden-Hallett What a great idea! I agree with some of the others that I would certainly tune in, but since I can't even seem to finish a piece in a month, how would I ever be able to do it in 40 minutes?
What I might be able to do, if I could figure out the tech, is to explain a piece that I have already done, from the Photoshop document and showing the layers. Even in that case, part of my process is that the documents gets too bogged down and once they get over about 800M and my computer starts acting wonky, I jump ship to another so I can simplify without losing past work if I need to go back.
So that puts me somewhere between choices 1 and 2.
In short, I am still not very confident in my process and it changes a bit each time. Which is, naturally, why I want to watch all of yours...
P.S. Oh yeah, and now that I see @xin-li's latest post, it would be nice to have a way to participate from Western Europe, which is once again 6 hours ahead of the EDT now that the time has changed here too (this weekend).

Sounds like an awesome idea
-
@Braden-Hallett yes, but when you conduct a meeting it gives you a notice that it has suspended limits.

This is the first recording of my sketching process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdJ_x0xhjv4
It was kind of a test to see how it would work with no real plan. I could not figure out how to speed up the video. That is why I recently bought the movavi screen recording and editing software. I am planning on doing more videos. I almost had a new one to post this week, but I had messed up with the controls thinking that it was recording and it was not... oh fudge....
-
@xin-li holy cow, rubber cement. It never would of have occurred to me to use that as a masking agent. That is freakin awesome.
-
@jdubz To be honest I have no clue what rubber cement is (I am Chinese, it might just be I do not know the English word), but I am so wanting to try. I googled that I might be able to get it here in Norway (Where I live). I will get it the first chance I have visiting a hobby shop.
-
I'd be down. A lot of people always ask me how i use procreate because I know so much about it. So I'd be willing to show you tips and tricks too.
-
@ArtofAleksey wow. cool. I would love to learn more. I use procreate, but I do not digg very much - I stick with things I knew, and explore very little by myself.
-
@xin-li yeah im willing to do a procreate tutorial as well.
-
I would definitely be in to record the work on a piece @Braden-Hallett Nice idea
-
@xin-li rubber cement is also known as booger glue to those who have maturity issues.

@Neha-Rawat said in showcasing our process?:
would try a pre-recorded session or a pre-illustrated session and describe it layer wise.
Sounds great

I would imagine if you're showcasing you can choose a time that's best for you Though I'll try and choose a time that's best for everyone (maybe similar time to when the SVS guys do it

Made a poll for dates and times

@xin-li Can you show your process for making your b/w piece of the girl and dog on a rainy day in the city? I like it and Iād really like to learn from you.
-
@Mara-Price hehe. I would love to share the process of making that piece. But right now it is a bit challenging for me to do live demo or video recording with that piece. The piece is done with ink and lots of water splashing and I need access to my studio to do that. I have taken some photos during the process. What I can do it make a slide show and talk through what I did step by step if you are interested.

@xin-li Xin Li your piece is so beautiful. I'm very interested in learning how you did it. Thanks for offering to do the slide show and talk through what you did step by step. I'm looking forward to it.
