@Chip-Valecek wow! That's really good! I'm impressed!
Here is my favorite piece this year. I like it because I learned a whole lot about inking doing the class with you guys and the characters really evolved into recognizable little mice.

@chrisaakins Continuing the theme of mice gettin' into trouble

I took a long break from drawing and participating in the forums after being discouraged about my art but now I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. I don’t know why I didn’t think of doing flash cards sooner but while trying to teach my daughter the alphabet it just seemed like the obvious project to rejuvenate my drive to become an illustrator. I think I’ll change the font before I finalize them but this one is my favorite so far.

Working on a new story with my pal Peanut Butter!

Color and value studies before I start the finals.

For something totally unrelated to anything else I've done, I just finished a little Christmas village out of foam and cardboard for my wife this past week. Got the lights wired up this last weekend.

@jdubz This is something I really want to get myself into!.... Did you sketch the model or you went head on to build?
-
@josegalue25 I did a sketch only for sizing. I taped 8.5x11 sheets to roughly the size of the thing (I think this was like 22" x 44") and then I blocked in where the houses and church were actually going to go so I didn't get lost. The houses were surprisingly difficult to keep the scale right in my head.
So the initial "sketch" was just placement boxes for borders.

One of my mother's favourite Christmas activities is baking cookies and other goodies. Last Saturday we did just that. After the cookies came out of the oven, one of them was already split so mom and I decided to eat it. I split it again and gave a piece to my dad.

I finished my story!!! Now I have to make it into an actual book -
@jdubz that’s so cool, how did you do the water?
-
@peteolczyk it's just acrylic paint, and then I applied a 2-part resin to it that cures in like 24 hours.
It was supposed to be like 2mm thick to help add depth. But when I sealed that off on the end and poured the resin in, it began to ooze all over the table lol. So, if you work with resin like that, REALLY make sure you 100% seal that sucker off.
-
@Jon-Anderson I love everything about this project Jon. Looking forward to see how you get on! This cute bear is a great start.
-
@jdubz my brother in law does dioramas too. I’m always surprised by the level of detail that goes into them and the amount of work. I can look at them for hours.

Hello so I was playing around with drawing a portrait and I am very happy with it for trying something new. And I know this is the gallery of ooos and aaahs but please let me know if my work has a more orange face because it shouldn’t be. My computer looks correct but my iPad makes it out orange and darker all round which upsets me if that’s how it comes off to others. Thanks,
Edit* So quality of image is lower but skin is meant to be whiter pink. Thanks, @jdubz

Feeling chuffed that I’ve finally figured out how to do a repeat pattern in Procreate. Yes they are a bit weird costume thingies but I enjoyed the process.
-
@MissMushy This is great! Did you figure it out yourself or is there a tutorial that you learned from?
