September Prompt WIP (Pig eats bacon?)
-
Yeap that is right... Betty brought bacon and sausage to school for lunch.
I was thinking all sorts of ideas and while brain storming with my son, I thought why does the girl need to be human. What if she was an animal? Like a pig? What would be shocking to a pig? How about a pig that enjoys bacon That hit the spot.
So feel free to follow along with me and let me know if you see anything that needs improvement while I post my WIPs.
Thanks in advance!

@Chip-Valecek I wish I could give this more than one upvote.
The three little pigs just got darker...
-
@Braden-Hallett I was thinking of some how adding the Big Bad Wolf as a teacher in the background some how. But instead of him shocked, he is cracking up.
-
Haha, good one! Nails the prompt perfectly too!!
-
@Chip-Valecek or his mouth is watering.
Awesome concept!
-
@Chip-Valecek blech! Hahaha! I think the first thumbnail captures a better feel than the second. I love the revulsion on their faces.
-
@chrisaakins I agree, I like the two pigs having their conversation at the end. Everyone feels a bit cramped, maybe your canvas could be a bit wider.
-
Very disturbing yet satisfying on some strange level as well. Iβm sure this one will be the most shocking entry.
-
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I zoomed out to build an environment of the cafeteria around them as well as adding the Wolf as the teacher. I think on the back wall I will have a sign that says Today's Special BACON. This is my last rough sketch, going to clean it up and start on my lines.
-
Actually, the more I think about it... I can't have a sign that says Today's Special cause the shock has to come from her bringing the bacon to school.
-
@Chip-Valecek the wolf is excellent. I love his expression. I was thinking a sign could say" bring your own lunch day" or something like that but that doesn't make sense either with the cafeteria in the background. Wolf really is awesome though!

brilliant

Clean sketch and line work. Onto local color. but will prob start that tomorrow.
-
Added my local color. Wanting to keep everything in the back blue and only the focal area in color.
Then I touched up the background with some shadows and highlights. I don't want to send too much back there. Really looking forward to working on my piggies.
-
The juice box is the perfect touch to this piece! (also the ink leak in the wolf's pocket)
-
@Chip-Valecek I think this is shaping up to be one of your strongest pieces. Really good composition and great drawing.
-
I really like the composition, colours, interactions and rendering!! So much fun as a concept as well. The only thing, a very small one, is the paws or hoves or what do you call them, of the piggs... I'm sorry! I was thinking on it for a few days if I should say something or not, but then I thought that I would want to know, so that's why i'm now posting this. I don't think it makes a huge difference if you would,'t change it though.
But really, great one, love the vibe of this piece!
-
@Sofie-Schollaert Do you think I should color them brown? I had a bunch of sketches with hands, two fingers, three fingers and only the worm like arms seemed to do it for me. I did struggle with that piece. What else do you think I can do?
-
@Chip-Valecek A color block at the end might do it. Have you tried that solution? Itβs a good idea.
-
@Chip-Valecek I get it, it's hard to make it fit in right. you might just add a line and make them another colour, just to define that there are hoves (or whatever)... Like I said, it's just a little thing...
