@anya-macleod OMG this is super sweet!
-
@lenwen thankyou!!

Here is mine. I did this in traditional watercolor on cold press and inked It (and tweaked it) in Procreate. I could spend another week on it but given that I also did a pen and ink version of this and another version on hot press that I tossed, i’m ready to be done with it

Laurie, this is so great! I love that it's a school of rabbits, and all of the students have their own personality! The style is so reminiscent of E.H. Shepard.
-
@noah-albrecht Thanks! I love his style so I'm glad I was able to capture it.
-
When is the contest deadline? Been a while since I've entered one, but I got some fun ideas for it that I might flesh out if there's enough time still.
-
Last day of the month 11:59 I believe.
-
Here's mine! Struggled to come up with a concept for this one, and didn't have a lot of time in the end, but here we are! I'm still pleased with the image at least from a render standpoint I guess.
-
Really pleased with how this turned out. With everyone’s help on the forum it’s a landmark piece for me. Definitely plenty to improve in my skills of execution abilities.
How do you tell when something in your current execution abilities is a strength that you want to lean into and keep in your developing style vs something that would be better to avoid and work to overcome?

Hi everyone. Here's my entry for this month.

She took her flamingo to dance school to learn to dance the flamenco.
-
@TwiggyT this is so cute love it!
-
Here's my first ever entry. I know I could keep tweaking it, but I'm calling it done. I learned so much, mostly that I have a lot more to learn. Anyway, she showed up with Mr. Prickles the cactus cat!
-
Hello! This is my first contest entry for SVS learn. I've been learning so much from the videos I'm excited to finally participate!

I went through a lot of ideas for this prompt, and nothing felt right til I focused in on the word ‘shocked’ and started researching lightning folklore. I asked, “what if a little girl literally brought lightning to school?” So, I found the tale of the Kadlu, and fell in love. According to Inuit folklore, Kweetoo, Ignirtoq, and Kadlu are the three little sister goddesses of lightning, rain, and thunder. Kweetoo makes lightning by hitting flint stones together, and I was thinking how fun would it be to show the moment when Kweetoo goes to school and shows her sisters that she can create lightning.
You can check out my full process (this one was a doozy!) on the forums here.
Love seeing everyone's work! Good luck all!

@Laurel-Aylesworth Just lovely.
-
@Dima-Eichhorn Thank you Your entry is gorgeous. I love your sense of color and the way you direct the viewer's eye to the focal point. I can easily see this as part of a picture book.
-
@Laurel-Aylesworth Thank you for the kind words. I was really struggling with the colours ( as always) and I also love the face expression of the boy in the middle from your illustration.
