How to ink group run through
-
Hello ladies and gents!
A while ago we did a group run-through of creative environment design. I think a LOT of people learned a ton from working through the course week by week and sharing the homework.
SO
In the weeks leading up to October (INKTOBER )I figured I'd do the same with the How To Ink course! Just like the creative environment design course we'd use the forums to share work and give each other feedback, and each week we'd try and work through the same lessons and homework.
Just like last time, to really take part you'll need a subscription or to have bought the course so you can access the videos and workbook 'n such.
Would anyone be interested in doin' this with me?
-
@Braden-Hallett yes! But i may not do the homework just because ive done it already haha. Can i still partake and critique? If that bothers people i wont. I know my feedback can be a bit much sometimes.
-
I'm getting ready for inktober for the first time so I could join in on some of it. I did some of the homework already but practice makes perfect right?
-
@Braden-Hallett I’d be down for that. Like Aleksey (sp?) I’ve taken the course (1 and 2) already but I only did one third to half of the homework assignments. Therefore, long winded way of saying I’d be down for that idea as well. I’m getting pumped for Inktober and I love the idea of some accountability from peers working on the same stuff.
-
This is going to be exciting. I want to join this year’s Inktober but I think I’m going to do it digitally.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I wonder if they’re going to have another inktober contest
-
@Aleksey The more people critiquing the better
@Coley More practice equals more better!
@Bricz-Art Awesome! I found that it wasn't just doing the homework, but doing it at a slower steadier pace really helped, so you may get some more out of the course
@Nyrryl-Cadiz I'm doin' it digital, too. Nothin' wrong with digital It's a chance to make some new brushes, right?
-
I am in, thanks Braden. I am also going digitally.
-
I’m in! Just for clarification, are we doing how to ink 2.0? Or the first one?
-
This sounds great! I'd be up for it as well!
-
I am in. thank you Braden for the initialtive. I think I might go traditional this time. Spent too much time drawing digitally this year
-
I just got back from a month of limited internet/computer which I spent trying to improve my line and wash skills in traditional media so I'm definitely in. I'll probably add watercolor to the homework to continue to work on that style. Thanks, Braden, for initiating this again.
-
Awesome! I'll take a look at the course and have a thread up and running for us with a timeline and such in time to start Monday
I'll post a link to the new thread in this one and try and tag everyone in.
@burvantill I'd imagine we'll do the new one.
@xin-li @demotlj Awesome! I'm always a little jealous of people who do traditional. Maybe I'll do some too on the side this year
-
I'll also post a link to a discord channel in the new thread. This forum is great for sharing work and giving structured feedback, but discord's really good for informal chatting.
-
@Braden-Hallett I already took both courses but I fudged a little bit on the exercises so I would be down with it.
-
@chrisaakins I found the real benefit to the last group run through was less doing all the homework, and more doing all the homework at a digestible pace, if you get what I mean Acquiring skills and reflective learning takes time.
I guess what I'm sayin' is I'm sure you'll still get something out of it!
-
@Braden-Hallett I’m happy to know there is something I do that can make you jealous because I drool with envy over your drawings and abilities!
-
Hello, I'm interested in joining in!
-
@Braden-Hallett definitely thuogh i don’t hink I’ll be doing any inking this Inktober. I’m just going to make art based on the prompts but with my style. LOL i feel so evil exploiting Inktober. I just really want to join and cash in on the benefits of inktober. BWAHAHA
-
@Geoffrey-Anderson Yay more persons I'll tag you when I set up the official thread
@Nyrryl-Cadiz thou art an evil genius :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:
