Featured Student for July
-
Its another month, and that means another chance to get your work featured on the homepage! I wanted to get this post up as close to the first of the month as possible, so the featured student post for June is not up just yet, but it will be later this week.Instructions:
This post is a place to share work if you want to get a chance to be featured in the Student Art Gallery on the SVSLearn.com homepage for July. To be considered share 1-2 of your best pieces (you can re-share an image you posted last month, but this is also a great opportunity to push yourself and add a new piece to your portfolio) on this forum post. Make sure to share your image during the first 10 days of June to be considered for July. Also, make sure your images are at least 800 pixels on the shortest side and do not exceed 1mb in size.
Work will be selected based off of how well the work uses the following:Concept: how well does your illustration convey a clear concept/story. Is it a unique approach? Does it make me want to know more about what is happening in the illustration?
Technique: How is the composition working? Does it have good use of lighting, rendering, mark making, etc.? Does the technique compliment the concept?
If you are selected, we will be emailing you using the email indicated on your forum account. Besides your art being displayed on the homepage, you will also be sent some questions for a Q&A blog post that will be shared on the SVS Learn blog.
I really enjoy all of the great work everyone keeps posting each month!

I love this school
-
@lmrush i just love how loose and whimsical your watercolor illustrations are. Theyβre just really beautiful. It makes me want to paint with watercolors again.
-
@nyrrylcadiz Aww thank you so much, I stepped away from them also, to oils/acrylic/digital and I always came back to watercolor.
-
@AustinShurtliff for each month should we submit again? And if so different pieces or the same ones?
-
well I will give it a try
Hope it is not late
-

@lmrush you don't have to post again every month, though you are more likely to be chosen if you do (because I don't always look through the past months when picking). You can repost work you have posted before, I just suggest using this as a extra push to keep making new pieces for your portfolio each month.

Thanks everyone for your submissions this month!
I realized that only having the first ten days of each month is a little quick of a period to ask people to submit, so for next month's submission post I am going to try posting it even earlier (probably around the 15th of this month) so you have 20 or more days to post something to be considered for August. If you have any thoughts or suggestions feel free to share them! -
@AustinShurtliff I think more lead time would absolutely help
-
Oh darn, totally didn't see this until now. Good luck to all the students who submitted!
-
@NelsonYiap I will be posting the submission post for August by the end of the week if you'd like another shot
-

-
@Jonas-Zavacky The bunny illustration came out so good! Well done!! Did you colour it digitally?
-
Thank you @ShannonBiondi Yes! It is actually all digital. I should try color something traditionaly tho
-
@Jonas-Zavacky You got a really lovely, natural watercolour look going. It's great. Looks totally traditional to me.
