@Perrij looks great! Love the warm feeling of the squad inside the cave and then the cold feeling when you look at the lonely pirate Makes you want to be just inside the cave with others :)))

RE: Conflicted over Inktober
Hi @Kristin-Wauson ! Well, Inktober started as a challenge to get better with ink by a person who wants to get better in ink and can see himself doing professional work in ink.
The pressure is real because it became so big and everybody is doing it. But there is no "you should do it".. Everybody has its own priorities. So you don't have to do it. For me, I always work and try to get better in ink so I don't really see it as a challenge (the inking part - haha I am funny ink is always a challenge ) and I don't do inktober for that very reason.
But.. there is the other side of the challange which is - drawing every day and pushing yourself creatively - to come up with good ideas every day which you are proud of. Which for me is far more harder than drawing in ink. So If I am going to do inktober it is because of that reason.
So if you want to do the challange...you can try it for that reason too... You can do the challenge in pencil the ink is just a hard medium that won't forgive you mistakes - and that will push you as an artist.
So those are my thoughts on this topic
RE: How To Ink 2.0 Group Runthrough Week 1
haha what a thread! Everybody doing the ink exercises. Love to see that! It is challanging and fun. Maybe I will share mine later.
If You wanna get more in depth into inking I definitely recommend Rendering in pen and ink by Arthur Guptill. Excellent book.
RE: Transitioning to a Career in Art
Great episode! a lot of stuff there I agree on. There is no need to rush to be full-time artist. I see my peers who work in the industry and there is a lot of stuff that drains their artistic energy. No thanks. I like to work on my personal projects after the day job. I can afford it. I definitely want to be full-time artist - I just dont want to take the path that will suck the life out of me.
RE: Collective art project to send Will some love and support.
@ShannonBiondi Whoo!! it looks great! Love the simplicity!
It is a great project It is nice to see it finished.
RE: House Illustration-Perspective issue
for me, it is always horizon line first. Then drawing basic cubes on top of that as a representation. That is the point where I will make sure the perspective makes sense because it is easy to see.
I totally get not knowing where to draw your lines. But if you know what kind of perspective you are going for, it will be easier. Put down your horizon line (that is where your eye level is) and then draw one line of the house (best works vertical line because, in 1 and 2 point perspective, those lines are not changing - they are straight ) Everything will relate to that. From that you can connect the line with vanishing point and soon you have the cube you can work from... and don't stress yourself much. Every line doesn't have to be perfectly placed. It just has to make sense.
To train yourself, perspective practice is a great way to do that (attached image). Or just drawing cubes in perspective as a warm-up. You do those couple of time and the process will start making more sense.
If there is anything unclear, please let me know! Good luck!
