My kids at school gave me an assignment: draw an octopus. I used it to teach composition. Successful? What would you say the focal point is? I want to know if I achieved what I wanted.
Also stylistically I wanted a whimsical Graham Baese feel.

Yes, I would read this story! I think this image is great -- the subject is cute and quirky, the composition is strong, the color looks good.
As far as I can tell it looks like the eye is the focal point and the tentacles serve to lead your eyes around the composition. I could be wrong; the image is too big for my screen, so it's difficult to tell for sure.
