Hey all, my name is Claire and I am a freelance illustrator and designer from Tofino BC, Canada (end of the road on west coast Vancouver Island)! I work and live from my sailboat (which can provide its own unique challenges), and feel pretty lucky to be able to do what I do for a living.
One of my New Years
resolutions"goals" this year is to listen to more Podcasts. I recently discovered 3 Point Perspective and LOVE it! I listened to the one about networking and realized that, due to my remote location, I don't really HAVE any friends or mentors in my industry in my area, and moving from here isn't possible as I LOVE where I live. Lots of artists here, but not really 'commercial illustrators'. Most of my network is via social media these days.Since my other "goal" is to extend my network, I figured I would just dive into potential networks further afield! So that being said... here I am. Nice to see so many artists out there!

Welcome, Claire! I bet you'll like it here! I, too, fell in love with the podcast and their advice! I binge-listened to the whole thing over a couple of days, and it's a great one!! I've only been part of the forums for a couple weeks now, and I can already tell it's going to change how I look at illustration. There are tons of great threads if you go searching for keywords. Have fun!

Welcome to the forum! I'm a newbie too, and am on the total opposite side of Canada in Newfoundland! We're hoping to get to B.C. this summer for mountain biking and hiking tho

I joined SVS for a month but I can already tell after one week that I will be sticking around, I absolutely love what I'm learning. The courses are excellent. Anyhow, welcome again and see you around the forum -
