Hidden WIP
-
A little late to this one, but sketched out 3 concepts and trying to decide which to take forward.
1 - Plant monster using it's glowing lure to attract nearby bugs before inevitably eating them.
2 - Kids picking daises whilst the mother daisy starts picking his hair.
3 - Kid looking a bit sad just come home from school on his birthday, with his friends and family hiding ready to surprise him.
-
@gary-wilkinson I love the third one! They're all cool. I like the story of the third one--The people are hidden but there is also hidden joy , ready to come out!
-
@gary-wilkinson They are all great. #2 would go in line with your mushroom monster theme. That might be cool to explore.
-
@gary-wilkinson I like 2 and 3. They seem the most clear to me. But I think the third one fits the prompt better.
-
I like #3
-
I think 1 conceptually bends the prompt in a great way. Kind of hidden in plain sight.
-
Number 3. I think creative lighting will be essential here. I can't wait!
-
judging by some of your other pieces, I think you could really take #3 to a beautiful place. I'm sure you could make any of them great, but there's another vote for you to consider.
-
I'm a fan of option 2 for the story aspect. I can see how option 3 would make a visually powerful illustration, though.
-
Thank you for all your thoughts and comments. I think you guys are right with #3, it will be a tough piece, but if I can get it right it will make a nice one for the portfolio
-
agree with the rest #3, looks like a good chance to make a lot of details.
-
I vote for #3 as well. I can see dramatic value choices making this one really pop like crazy! Well done!
-
I do like them all but 3 looks really interesting

@gary-wilkinson I'm late to chime in but I have to agree with the general consensus favoring #3. The other two ideas as really cool and creative, but they also remind me of recent work I've seen you do. On the other hand, #3 introduces a scene that evokes lots of emotion and is very relatable. Even in its rough early stage it tugs at the heart strings and could potentially become a memorable piece in your portfolio. Plus, there's opportunity to show adults, kids and pets hiding in the scene.
