      @Laurel-Aylesworth

      I know this is an old thread, but I'm wondering how your experience getting paid has gone? What does your husband suggest?

      It's now been 8 months since my work was published, and I've received two partial payments with the same messages from accounting. I did look at my contract again, and it says this:

      Cricket Media agrees to compensate You with a one-time payment of $570 ($310 + $260) and You agree to accept such
      compensation as full consideration for the rights granted herein.

      Would this mean they are in violation of their contract?

      Today, I've started leaving longer posts on Facebook and Instagram about their lack of payment. I also commented on a sales director's LinkedIn post. I just want the remaining $370 that they owe me. I can't even imagine being owed $1800!

      @kayleenartlover there ate also the storytelling collective challenges. They are affiliated with Drivethrurpg and roll20 and have several writing courses and challenges going on during the year

      I will suggest to get the ideas down on paper. Because whenever you ask if someone is interested you are giving a second seat to your own interest, and that is what will make your work a great read, if you want to write it, so start small, put a deadline on and go for it.

      @Hannah-England Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback, Hannah! That is a great suggestion. It'll be nice to have something from a different angle and not specifically focussing on the characters. I'll work on something like that.

      SVS prop assignment.png

      Hello! This is my first time posting on here, but this is my prop design I came up with for the intro to prop design course. I've been really getting into dnd and playing Baldur's Gate 3 so I thought I'd do something inspired by a place in it called the Underdark, a very whimsical area full of mushrooms and crystals and honestly one of my favorite areas in the game.
      I'll try not to go into too many lore relatd details but essentially, this is where my character in game lived, so I figured these props are what you could expect to find in her home.
      I'm honestly pretty proud of it! I'd be interested to know what you all think, any feedback is greatly appreciated!

      @AthenaBeana I think there is certainly value in drawing the figure on a large piece of paper. Drawing something at a larger scale has improved my overall technique and allowed me to work on larger strokes instead of small ones, mainly using my wrist. While you can draw a human head at a relatively large size on a normal piece of paper, the human figure is much larger, which makes the larger paper helpful. Charcoal is not a requirement, but I've found that the medium helps me make large, quick strokes while figuring out the figure's gesture and encourages me not to focus too much on nodding at little details. I can understand not wanting to spend a lot of money on supplies. I would recommend getting some cheap large sheets of paper (like newsprint or even just 11x17 sheets if that is easier to come across) to experience drawing the whole figure at a larger scale. You can still do many of the drawings in your preferred size and medium, but doing a few large would be very helpful.

      @mag Super helpful!! Yeah, that sketch is definitely what I was going for, I just don't have a strong enough grasp on perspective to achieve that yet haha. Adding the foreground elements help a ton, makes the space feel more like an actually lived-in space as well.

      I did have the guy with the fork facing to the right intentionally, it's a bit of a piece on sharing new foods between cultures, so it's meant to be as if he's hiding the fact that he's struggling to eat the food, but that's a good point about it being thrown off the page.

      @mag That is a great observation and I'm glad you pointed it out. I'm going to make the changes on my end. It makes me happy to see how the illustration has improved with the right feedback. Thank you so much! 🙂
