@Aleksey This one definitely gets my vote. What a great drawing. The other is a great pic but has so much going on that Granny gets lost. It also loses that homey feel I think you might be going for. I think you should show long hair otherwise she kind of looks like a gypsy fortune teller. Maybe when you add color and such that won't be the case.

@Aleksey This looks great. Digging the knitting and playful catfish. I think the tail looks like a young 'uns mertail though. Maybe some barnacles and torn tips?

@sigross I was thinking about that but i feel like a mermaid would exercise proper fin care. Like a human would use skin creams and brush their hair so that when they are older they would have well cared for hair and skin. A mermaid would have well cared for scales and fins.

Ok so here is the value and light. I haven’t added the shadows yet on anything else except the ship behind the seashell chair.
I might do this with a limited bluish green color palette.

@Aleksey this is such a fun picture. It is really coming out great. I did want to say that for me the face (once you added the light) looks more male than female. Not sure why, as I looked at this before and it didn't bother me.

Just wanted to make you aware. Not sure though, I might just be crazy.

@theprairiefox I can see how it can look that way, but even if it does I dont think it really matters honestly. The gender of the merperson doesn't take away from the overall appearance and story of the drawing.
