"The Moment Before My Mom Left"
Thanks to everyone who gave tips, tricks, and suggestions during the Work in Progress (WIP) stage. I have learned a ton from this one. Usually I do more light-hearted work, but I changed it up this time to something a bit more serious, and close to home. If you want to find out more about the story behind this piece, Look up: The Moment Before My Mom Left (WIP)
I love all the post so far! great stuff art peeps! You all are great!

The Moment Before - The Cock Crows.
My first time submitting an entry to SVS and I had the goal to produce an image that wins the contest I'm so grateful to the community and the opportunity to share. I threw everything I had at this piece and kept circling back to better the work. I watched and implemented many skills from the videos here on SVS and had a mentor give feedback. The wonderful thing is how much I've learned, now being able to share my piece, and the flow to build on my art skills.
So overjoyed to reinvest the energy from this entry and get started with a WIP thread to try and win in May!

What happens next? Loved seeing everyone's ideas. Good luck to all, hope you enjoyed the process. -

As usually happens, I revisited my illustration and felt compelled to make changes. Please excuse my re-submission.

I also revisited my piece, and could not resist to touch up a bit more of the muddy color. Sorry for my re-submission.
