13 Days of Halloween

@smceccarelli Hee hee! I particularly like this one--the texture and color variation, the volume, the way the tentacles trail off into curls, the plethora of suction cups (or whatever you call them), the goofy eyes.
Sorry, I have no idea how to randomly select a follower, though!

@smceccarelli Is this an actual sighting from your time on the beach?
-
@smceccarelli OHMIGOD. YES. The beach monster is AWESOME.
-
Those 3-eyed sunglasses!!
-
@demotlj Yes - heavily inspired! There is an expression in Italian: „tipo da spiaggia“, which I was trying to convey. It´s not translatable, unfortunately. It´s a derogatory term for somebody who is peculiar and stands out but in a way that makes him ridiculous, but he is completely unaware of that and believes he is awesome. I think the „beach“ (spiaggia) term comes from the fact that you encounter a lot of that on beaches. Language is awesome and inspiring sometimes...

These are so great! I think i still love the worm and jack o lantern the best. Something about his own glow lighting up the pumpkin seems so clever. And he’s cute!
-
@smceccarelli Yes, the tipo da spiaggia would have a necklace, and undoubtably a necklace tan (necklace green?)! An the three-eyed sunglasses--I think you've nailed it!
Just curious; How is "fuori come un balcone" different? Maybe that person knows he's eccentric? ("Out there" like a balcony. I love Italian!)
-
@lauraa Aha! I don’t miss Italy but I do miss some of the expressions of the Italian language! “Fuori come un balcone” would be more like “batshit crazy” - if you pardon me. Somebody who is completely nuts. It´s an extension of “fuori di testa” - literally “out of your mind”.
-
@smceccarelli I am loving all of these. there is a consistency but also quite a bit of variety. the little details (like the candies in the brain-purse) really bring it to life. I'm a "with" cloak voter.
I use Procreate-and haven't had any problems crashing--YET (fingers crossed)--how big are the files you're making and that you think contribute to the crashing?
-
@burvantill I like your name suggestions. Language in the 21rst century is evolving so quickly and working hard to keep ahead of zany criticism.
-
@smceccarelli I have no idea about the follower-selection (#socialmediainept)-but so far the octopus is my favorite. She looks so incredibly 3d and the textures are amazing.
-
@susan-marks My iPad has been crashing on a variety of apps since the beginning - mostly on ProCreate though. In hindsight, I should have brought it back and got a new one: now the guarantee has expired since a long time, so it makes no sense. I´ll budget for a new one sometime in a year or two. I believe it has to do with memory allocation - if I shut down everything (including the network) things go a lot smoother. The biggest files are about 8000 px across, with 30 layers or so. These ones are mostly tiny (2000 x 2000 px and 3-5 layers) so they are reasonably stable

@smceccarelli i love this! Nice group of characters you have here
-
@smceccarelli would love to see this group show up in my door asking for candy at the halloween night.
-
@smceccarelli Oh, thanks for the heads up! didn't realize it was quite so seriously insulting! I thought fuori in that context meant something more like eccentric--"sticks out" rather than "out of his mind." This is the problem with living in a place where you aren't a native speaker. Good thing I haven't used it on many of my friends!
-
@smceccarelli I like the way his teeth are hatch marks, like he's counting something. I literally counted the posts to make sure this wasn't day 9! Also the lighting is very nice in this one.
P.S. the comment is in regards to the pumpkin-pillar.

Its looks amazing all together, each one is so awesome. Great Job!
