FEBRUARY CONTEST: The garage was trashed, but Riley made something to be proud of
-
Hi all! Let's channel our inner inventors and make something awesome!
The prompt for February is: The garage was trashed, but Riley made something to be proud of.
For this prompt, we want to know the story behind the creation, so we are looking for a full page illustration.
Remember: You no longer need to use our template to submit your work! You just need to be sure to meet the following criteria:
-
The longest side of your submission must be 1200 pixels (you will need to create a scaled down version of your original artwork to fit this size)
-
You must include a bar below your artwork with your name, forum handle or social media handles listed on it (this bar should be white with black text).
You'll still need to submit via the Critique Arena website, but feel free to post the finished version here too so we can all love on it! (If you are looking for feedback, please start a new thread)
Entries are due by Feb 28.
Ok everybody, good luck!

@chrisaakins Great storytelling, this is really fun

@holumpa thanks so much! Riley really tugged at my heart strings on this one, she was inspired by my very creative, 7 year old.

Hereโs Riley! Super proud and flying high! Not sure Iโve completely followed the brief but I had a lot of fun with it. Do those look like rotating propeller blades to you? Hoping they do. Good luck this month everyone!
-
@ruth I love the style, the colors are absolutely beautiful to me. And the propellor works great!
-
@ruth it turned out fabulous! I love all of the vintage images of her inspiration that you added In. I also really love your color palette. Great work!
-
@ruth Great expression on the dog! He looks loyal and trusting but clearly still has his doubts. Great image!
-
@holumpa Thanks so much for your lovely comments!
-
@angelinakizz Thank you so much for your kind words!
-
@jeremiahbrown Hehe! Thank you! Yes the dog has realised that heights are really not his thing, but he doesn't want to let Riley know and spoil her moment
