RE: Our SVS Virtual Studio πDECEMBER 2020π
Some "Yeti" ideas I've been working on. I don't think they're cute enough so I'll probably go back to the drawing tablet. -
RE: Our SVS Virtual Studio FEBRUARY π2021
So I'm making the jump from Adobe to Affinity products (because the cost for Adobe is crazy for someone just starting out and only needs Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and tested out Affinity Photo last night. Went for a poor man's Kim jung gi approach with nothing specific in mind. I think I'm mostly happy with Affinity Photo for my needs. As another thread pointed out it's 50% and there's a 90 day free trial so there's not too much to lose.

Yeti WIP cooking spot or not?
Happy Tuesday! So my wife and I watched Critique Arena last week and stayed for the spot illustration discussion at the end and when she saw me working on this month's entry she thought the version with the blue sky was more of a full illustration vs. the background-less version which she thought was more of a spot illustration, again, based on the discussion after the Arena. I sort of agreed with her but figured I'd pose this question to you all. Thank you for any of your thoughts! (I'll admit it... I added a bit of "cute" for this entry.)

RE: Our SVS Virtual Studio πDECEMBER 2020π
)) I already posted this last month without being a Christmas card but here's the Christmas card version.
I love the gaze between the elephant and fish @chrisaakins! Seems adorably accurate to me.

RE: Jake Parker and Todd Mcfarlane brothers?
@Molambo Haha, I was thinking father too but went with brother. Yeah, agreed, it's crazy what Todd Mcfarlane is trying to do with his expanded Spawn universe now. More power to him!

Jake Parker and Todd Mcfarlane brothers?
Okay, so they aren't brothers and this might be a waste of time for some of you and if so I apologize for that but they look very similar don't they?! I learned about Jake Parker after joining SVS back in November '20 and immediately thought the resemblance was uncanny (I grew up in the power age of Image comics) but I had no one to tell who would care.
It seems this facial structure could be a key ingredient in the recipe for artist genius/talent? I've inspected my children's faces and they don't match so I believe they are going to have to work a little harder for artistic success.

RE: Feedback for updated Portfolio?
@Nathalie-Kranich Your work looks excellent! I'm no professional but my first reaction when I opened your website was that your first 3 images on the main page aren't your most eye catching nor are they representative of your capability (they're a bit generic). It wasn't until I scrolled down just past those 3 pieces that I started reacting with, "Oh wow! These are great!" Get rid of or move those and I think you'll better hook potential patrons in my opinion.
Keep up the great work. Really impressive stuff!
