Our SVS Virtual Studio DECEMBER ☃️

Happy December!
Looking forward to seeing some holiday art. I imagine if you have your act together you were making holiday art back in July. If so, feel free to repost.Just imagine you are walking through a studio, silently looking over people’s shoulders at their work.
This is NOT a place for critiques. You may applaud, encourage, ooh and ah only

I'll start. This is my #kidlitartpostcard for December. I really wanted to do a setting off on an adventure piece, but also wanted to do something with a snowman, thus...

@kevin-treaccar cute!
-
More minis! Bookstore this round. Think I'm gonna call it a day for this year on these lol.
-
@jdubz So fun! I have a Pinterest board full of these little diorama's and a bookshelf waiting patiently for me to put one there.

I am working on a short comic. I was challenged earlier this year to make a one page comic, because I was always talking about it. I made the one page and was hooked. I've written (still editing) two stories to make into comics, but am taking the advice from the pros, to make a few short ones, increasingly longer and work up to the long form so I know for sure that I really want to do this. With a full time day job it is going painfully slow, but I am on page 3 of rough sketches and am having a blast. I'm following Nathan Hale's lesson on how to make a graphic novel. Great lesson BTW. This is my rough of page 1.

@burvantill My advice if you ever do a bookstore is find a friend that has a 3d printer and have them make you some bookcases
-
@burvantill Thank you!

Here's a portrait of me and my husband depicted as an ox and a tiger because he was born in the year of the ox and I was born in the year of the tiger.

Anyone else have this utterly irrational fear as a child?
-
I picked an old image from my computer to revise. Here is the work in progress
and the old image
I'm working on composition, value, gesture, shapes, and palette - pretty much everything - and trying to apply the courses I've done so far. -
'Hey all! So glad to be back! I am currently working on an “inbetweener” novel/ chapter book. Inbetweener meaning in between middle grade and young adult, and thought I might start sketching some cover ideas, albeit I’m only five chapters in hee hee.
-
@braden-hallett No. My irrational fear regarding public pools, was possibly swimming near a "floater", thanx to Caddyshack.
-
Working on a “Where’s Santa” illustration for my students. So much detail….
-
This post is deleted! -
@chrisaakins I found Santa! Omg I just realized what he’s holding! Hahaha love it!
-
Put US on the naughty list, will you!?
-
@braden-hallett I still have that irrational fear! Haha. This is perfect.

Not very Christmasy, but a friend of mine asked me to paint her moms house. I just finished it and was feeling kinda blah about it. I think because it’s just a flat picture of a house. It’s not interesting. I’m tempted to paint a bunny or something into it… -
One mural drawing down, six to go…
What other buildings would be fun to see in a small town?
