JUNE CONTEST: A very different kind of prompt!
-
@MirkaH love the fish bones in the belly!
-
This was so much fun to imagine and work on my digital art skills. Itβs all done all in procreate. Love seeing everyoneβs interpretations of the story.
-
@swedishbear thanks Heidi! I made a few more tweaks and resubmitted.
-
Really enjoyed this months' prompt. Loving seeing everyone else's interpretations

Hi everyone,
My name is Cathy "Myriam"Spee and this is my first time entering.
I found SVS trough YouTube and I loved the podcasts so much I decided to join this awesome group of illustrators.
My roots come from computer animation, but my life took me to graphic design, teaching and some entrepreneurial journeys. My dreams has always been illustration and I hope to keep learning new techniques at SVS learn. Any critiques are welcome. -
Happy I finished this time (and with time to spare! woo!) It's done entirely in watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, and pen for the eyes.
-
@Mary-Toth This image is awesome... I love it. GOOD LUCK
-
@MirkaH I really like the sketchiness of the lines And the composition of the spread works really well too
-
Thank you @Will-Terry for the great prompt this month.
Good luck to everyone.
Just to mention, I am active subscriber with my other email (everymeagain@yahoo.com) but my name is the same.

@Mary-Toth Wow Mary, this is so fun and cool and beautiful! That monkey!!! Lol.
-
Here's my entry, take two
-
@Mary-Toth I LOVE this! Wonderful!
-
@Mary-Toth Oh my gosh, the gator-infested river, yeeeess! Hahaha these gators remind me of empanadas, they are so dang cute!! Awesome shapes and colors!
-
@Maiia I must say I LOVE your color palette. Your perspective and character design is awesome.
Love what you did. -
I definitely had fun with this one! It's interesting to see how everyone interprets the story. I played in Procreate, until I was satisfied and then used that as a map for watercolor, my comfort zone. I'm still learning to work back and forth between the two.
-
@Tom-Shannon Thank you very much Tom
-
@cathy-spee Thank you so much Cathy for your kind words
-
My first time entering the monthly contest. There are sooo many good entries so far! I made this in Procreate and then tweaked some of the colors in Photoshop.

@Lindsey-Anderson this looks a lot like mine but I'm still only at rough stage . I have the exact same expression for Bongo and Clyde! I guess it was bound to happen with us all doing the same story
