April contest WIP, feedback always appreciated :)

OKAY.
Last month stuff went to hell, maybe this month I can spread the work out and not scramble to get something in a couple hours before the deadline (unprofessional conduct, sir!)
So I tried to figure out kind of how a robot can malfunction, go wrong, etc. Going berserk, exploding and stuff seemed easy, so I decided to have a puggle robot suddenyl 'lay' eggs (gonna try and get that perfect squatty poop pose)
So here's some character exploration and colour study
Feedback, as always, is appreciated. Feedback makes is all stronger. Super strong. Super DUPER strong. ULTIMATE COSMIC POW- ahem pardon me...

Ok, first off, I LOVE your style, and the concept for this picture!
Only critiques I can think to give would be to consider framing the image a bit differently (see picture below). By adding that little bit more space above the dog, it puts both the girl and the dog in a nice top third-bordering-on-center area of the image, which I find to be more pleasing.
And to slightly shorten the strap on the girl's goggles. Even though they are supposed to be flying off, they look a slight bit too loose in my opinion to have been on properly.Again, love this piece and look forward to seeing the finished product!
