WIP the stage was rattling breaking and falling apart.

Time to use some of the characters I've been working on. School play gone wrong. Timmy now knew what that one shiny silver bolt did.
After a page of thumbs and some colour studies I'm about halfway through creating a lineless colour study before I start to sketch
-
So excited to see this come together!

Didn't like the dead centre focal point. Wanted more room for more mayhem. Decided this is Cinderella. Remembered that I can have a literal spotlight on my focal point since it's a stage.
Timmy is in deep, DEEP trouble.

I keep telling myself I'll do something simple. And then I don't. Blurgh...

@Braden-Hallett I like this better too.
I wonder if you have tried playing more with the falling kiddos up top. Right now they are all in a similar line and relatively equally spaced. Perhaps one could be dangling higher up? or something.
-
@Braden-Hallett It s pretty awesome !Really liking the composition so far!thanks for sharing the proccess!

I think you're right! I'll add a kid clinging to a rope or somesuch
Thanks!

@Georgios-Christopoulos Thanks man!

This is a great piece already! My only thought is to use less contrast in the background. Mute them down a bit so the kid in the spotlight becomes more of the centerpiece.
-
Aw man! I was doing the same stage scene!
Yours is waaay more chaotic! I love how dynamic it is!
Yeah I'd put everything else in some shadow so that the spotlight stands out more. Love to see how this develops! -
@Braden-Hallett haa! The grand finale! Donβt forget to make it magical.
Iβm so excited for this one.

Absolutely! the kiddos int he background are going to have similar saturation and values in their costumes to the other things in the background (won't be black sihl figures
)

OH MY GOSH I NEED TO ADD GLITTER! ALL THE GLITTER!
-
@Braden-Hallett yessss!!!!
-
@Braden-Hallett At first I thought they were monkeys and then realized they weren't. And then I thought, MONKEYS!!! That would be a perfect reason everything was shaking rattling and falling apart. I could see some kid thinking they would liven up the show.
-
@chrisaakins monkeys would make for an excellent illustration as well! So, so many monkeys.
Just a forlorn looking kid standing in the middle of a monkey *^&%storm with a zoo key clutched in his little hand, lol
