Meditation for artists!
-
I've noticed a lot of us creatives get kind of burned out doing projects or just with every day life, and I found this lovely form of meditation for artists that I thought I would share! ️

Today the Coronavirus reached our pretty isolated town and we have joined the global shutdown. I remembered this thread from last week and spent some time doing some meditative drawing. It is very calming.

I have been dealing with anxiety in varying degrees since my 20s. In my 40s it spiked for a variety of reasons (divorce, death of my parents etc.) resulting in a fear of leaving my home for anything other than the essentials. Ironically, as the world goes into lockdown, for the first time in long time, I am suddenly ‘normal’. No one trying to get me out of the house for no good reason - it is very weird to suddenly be free of this well-meaning pressure.
I started drawing mandalas as a form of meditating about 6 years ago and the impact it has had on my mental health has been quite profound. My mind becomes quiet and my anxieties are more easily controlled. If I find myself getting overwhelmed in a public space, I can even ‘draw’ with my fingers inconspicuously to calm down. Here are a couple of the ink ones .
