Facebook Group

I been thinking of starting a private facebook group for working artists looking for more personal support. Not only on their art, but also maybe their life goals as well. For example, this year I made a promise to myself to focus on myself. I am working on getting my body healthy and my art to get healthy. I think having a group of other like minded artists supporting each other may be a good thing.
I know for myself I work my day job from home and my conversations are always one sided since my dogs just stare back at me and use me for treats. It would be nice to have some others to talk to personally. Maybe I am just looking for friends LOL.
SVS forums are a great place for global feedback and critiques. But do you all feel there would be an interest for a closed group where more then art can be shared?

I know my local SCBWI has this thing where they can facilitate getting you into a local critique group. I haven't asked about it much, but I sense they're like circles of peers that are based on your experience and aspirations.
Have you reached out to your local art community to find out if there are organizations that offer similar groups near you? In my experience the artists sometimes shuffle around trying to find the group that clicks for them, but it's worth a shot finding out if any exist. Do you live in a community that's large enough to potentially have something like that?

@Coreyartus there are some local groups. Its hard to get out to those. I am also looking for like minded artists looking for more then just art help. You know something like "I was painting and then the kids ran into the house and broke the door. What sort of tranquilizer gun do you use on your kids?" or "My wife keeps telling me to stop coloring with crayons and come out of your office, what should I tell her?" You know personal stuff LOL

Hi @Chip-Valecek, only voted no because i donโt do FaceBook. My wife also tells me to stop coloring
-
@Chip-Valecek I only have one dog to talk to all day so my situation is more dire
-
@Chip-Valecek I only have one dog too, and a cat but she's boring
-
@Coley @Rachel-Horne sometimes talking to my dogs is much better then dealing with my crazy kids or people in the office LOL
-
@Chip-Valecek totally agreed!
-
@Chip-Valecek now thatโs true especially since mine agrees with me on everything

If anyone is interested in joining. Here is the link to the group.

It may take off or it may fail. I have been in groups that do well and people are active in them and others where a tumble weed comes across the screen.
