Our SVS Virtual Studio 🦇 OCTOBER 2019
-
Hello Illustrators! Inkers and Faux Inkers and artists who could not give a flying rat about Inktober. We know you are out there, don’t be afraid, you’re safe here.
What is everyone working on this month?
Imagine you are walking through a studio silently looking over people’s shoulders at their work. This is NOT a place for critiques. You may applaud, encourage, ooh and ah only.
-
I am working on my narrative project still. Almost done. Just need to paint it in procreate. I’m trying to make it look like watercolor or ink wash but I’m a rookie at painting digitally. Wish me luck.
-
Happy October everyone! @burvantill Good luck! Are you excited to get to painting?
I'm working on some idea generating thumbnails for an art trade.
-
@TessaW Yep! Its going to be a tad different than my usual style, but I am happy with how its looking so far.
I am loving the light and shadow in these thumbnails! The big room with the person standing in the light from the window is my favorite. -
Hooray for October! Here are some things I just finished today. The first is just something silly I thought of, a fun pun. Its a character from a video game whose name is Cloud so I drew him in a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs style. Meaty-or is a pun for the most powerful attack in the game which is actually Meteor. The second piece is for Catober. Its like inktober but with cats. The first prompt was Cat Witch/Wizard.
-
@TessaW wow Tessa
-
@burvantill Lisa that’s awesome! You could start with the watercolor brushes from WoolyPronto I mentioned. Free, and I really like several of them, plus she has a few videos showing how she uses them .
-
A bit prior to October for the first two, but tried hands today (not the class) as I’m still in bean mode with Posing Characters after Inktober is completed. Also to mention the first page has a rock I found on my mission trip to Nicaragua from the beach. But when I put it in water it dissolved lols. So these are more precious now since it’s in a sandy watery form now.
-
I had a shirt/sticker design that wasn't selling, so I tweaked it a little yesterday.
-
Finished up this comic book cover.
-
I asked my friend Arianna from an old work if I could colour and shade over one of her cute little characters, she agreed as I long as I showed her. So I did. First one is hers then mine.
-
Here's a piece I'm building around a random sketch I did.
-
@TessaW So good
-
October means Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. Just a quick sketchy idea of a poor turkey trying to escape his fate
-
I got my hands full with Inktober. Besides that, I sketch some thumbnails and try to prepare some painting for Slowember. Hope that I’ll have some time to finish them.
Sorry for not sharing pics. It’s night time here and photos wouldn’t turn out well with my poor lightning.
-
I thought I would play around with color. Not really finished just messing around trying different layers and brushes. I want a warmer tone over all but not really sure how to get there...
-
