So I created a little story in my head and am trying to illustrate it without any words as well as work on my character continuity. These are basically my final roughs (it didn't occur to me to share this until now) I just wanted to hear some other creatives' thoughts. Does anyone see anything that stands out negatively? or any other tips you have, I would love to hear. Thank you
-
It is a sweet sweet story and I love your lines. The thing that stood out was I was confused why the mermaid was big in one image -Was she in imaginative play? Other than that looks great!
-
@lmrush I agree. In the final, I think if you make sure the doll has a very distinct color or feature so it's noticeable that the doll got bigger once in the ocean then that concept will come across nicely.
-
@Mandy-Forte ahh this is soo cute sorry thats all i have
-
@lmrush Yes the image with the larger Mermaid is meant to be a imaginative one. I think I will make the colors more vibrant in that one to help push the point. Thank you for your feed back.
-
I like your characters, think they have a real way of connecting with your audience.
-
@Mandy-Forte I even checked the wardrobe to see if it was the same mermaid, so maybe a little different outfit would be an idea.
-
@lmrush the idea is that her doll has come to life in her imagination when she is in the water. Would it be better if the mermaid in the water looked more realistic but the same characteristics (hair and accessories) ? Color will probably help too.
-
@Mandy-Forte Yes...Keep the clothes the same, if she is coming to life, I think you need an image that shows her magically coming to life some wave swirls or blurred image of the getting bigger? Just an idea.....
-
@Mandy-Forte lovely

This is so cute. I love the scene on the beach and the next one in the water. I understand the confusion but agree - adding more details and color will help. Maybe you could try a few transformation vignettes between these two images?
-
Finally getting back to this. I started with the first Image of the girl waking up and getting ready for the beach. I would love to hear what you all think of this so far.
-
@Mandy-Forte it's cute! But I can no longer tell she's getting ready for the beach, all I can tell it's she's getting something from a drawer in her bedroom.
