Featured Student for June

May's Featured Student:
The featured student for May is Eric Castleman! The Q&A with Eric is up on the SVS Learn blog.
Instructions:
This post is a place to share work if you want to get a chance to be featured in the Student Art Gallery on the SVSLearn.com homepage for June. To be considered share 1-2 of your best pieces (you can re-share an image you posted last month, but this is also a great opportunity to push yourself and add a new piece to your portfolio) on this forum post. Make sure to share your image during the first 10 days of May to be considered for June. Also, make sure your images are at least 800 pixels on the shortest side and do not exceed 1mb in size.
Work will be selected based off of how well the work uses the following:Concept: how well does your illustration convey a clear concept/story. Is it a unique approach? Does it make me want to know more about what is happening in the illustration?
Technique: How is the composition working? Does it have good use of lighting, rendering, mark making, etc.? Does the technique compliment the concept?
If you are selected, we will message you using the chat feature on the forum. Besides your art being displayed on the homepage, you will also be sent some questions for a Q&A blog post that will be shared on the SVS Learn blog.
We have had some amazing work submitted the last two months and I can't wait to see what you share this month!

Here are two pieces from this year that I am pretty proud of.
-
I'll toss my work in the ring ;-).
-
Can't pass up this great opportunity! Thanks!
-
Here’s two pieces of my work. Happy to be measured amongst these fine artists
“The Call” (digital)
“Cats playing D&D” (traditional, ink and watercolor)
-
@Sarah-LuAnn love your work, great style.
-
@Adrian-K Thanks Adrian! Yours is beautiful as well. Happy to see a fellow DnD player ;-). Your piece reminds me of a friend's webcomic, Dungeons and Doggos. Have you read it? https://dndoggos.com/
-
@Sarah-LuAnn I have not, I’ll go and check it out.
The second piece was a commission, a Christmas present for his wife who had lost there 2 cats the previous year. It commemorates there past (little) family members. -
@AustinShurtliff
I hope it is not too late.
These 2 images are from my 2 different personal book projects.

Shoot! I didn’t realize it said up until the first 10 days in May.
Well if it’s not too late then here are my submissions. If it is, I’ll save em again for next month.
-
@Dima-Eichhorn no problem! I actually am a little late picking this month, so you beat me to it These are both really fun. I really like the concept in the dog image!
-
@Aleksey like I told Dima, I am actually a little late going through these this month so you are actually ahead of me. The reason we do the deadline so early each month is to give our amazing interviewer time to work with the chosen student to get the Q&A blogpost done by the end of the month.
I really enjoy seeing your images each month! -
@AustinShurtliff Thank you for the message and I am really happy that you like my puppy-image. Have a great day!!!
-
@Aleksey I really like your colors and the dragon-idea is crazy! Love it.
-
@AustinShurtliff I didn't realize that i didn't name the images, because they are from book projects. The book titles are - "Ruff helps" and "Where are my favourite socks."
