Day 2 - Secret. #folktaleweek2019 Nanny had kept a secret for a long long time.
Fairies 44-48/100 of my 100 fairies challenge. I also posted this on @SundayGirl76 thread Folktale Week Illustrations where there is a group of us doing the challenge.

@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson I still stand by the fact you need to make patterns with your foliage. I want to see entire fabric collections from you. And the fairies, oh my gosh, they couldn’t be cuter!

I agree. A fabric line from you would be so gorgeous.

@Whitney-Simms Thanks Whitney. I would love to make patterns for licensing. I started a collection and would love to finish it and send to manufacturers, honestly I got stuck as to how to get all the way there. I watched Gina Jane's class so many times and also other youtubers who licensed their illustration work and found myself frozen at exactly what to do to get it done.
Whitney are you contacting manufacturers with your watercolour patterns? Would you like to team up and do it together? -
@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson I know there are agents specifically for licensing - if you don't know how to get started maybe that would be a good place to start?

@TessaW Thanks Tessa.

@NessIllustration Hey Ness, thanks, that's a good idea. At this point the mountain feels so tall and at the same time I would love to start climbing it. Getting started is the hardest part, this is the most challenging part of working from a studio, you are figuring everything out as you go. I'm going to figure this out. I feel like I have the skills and just need to work out how to apply them to the business side of manufacturing.

@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson I know exactly what you mean hun! I have a couple ideas for my own children's books, but whenever I've looked into either traditional publishing or self-publishing, I've turned green at both the amount of work involved and the huge amount of stuff I would have to learn to do this. You definitely have the skills, but getting in a new business is always a steep learning curve and very intimidating. Best of luck!!

@NessIllustration Good luck with your book ideas Ness. You will have so much fun working on your own stories. It's a brilliant thing to bring a storybook to life.
