Brand new website!
NessIllustration last edited by NessIllustration
Holy guacamole, I did it! fall O_________O I started a few weeks ago with zero web design or web hosting knowledge and had the crazy idea to make my own custom website from A to Z... And somehow with lots of hard work, research and customer support, I just launched my brand new, beautiful and professional looking website that I made in Wordpress!
You'll have to forgive the super bragging, I'm just so happy and proud of myself about that one!
The website is at www.nessillustration.com
Please visit and let me know what you think! If you have any comments on the branding I'd love to hear it too, since I'm guilty for that as well haha
There's also a form to subscribe to my brand new newsletter as well! If that's something that interested you, sign up to receive it! (Please someone subscribe to my newsletter, it's going to be awesome and don't want to be alone to this party O_O)

It's looking slick. Well done.
What is the #1 purpose of your website? eg:
- Sell art through your store?
- Act as a portfolio for galleries?
- Act as a portfolio for publishers looking for a book illustrator?
Depending on the purpose of your website, will mean the way you set it up will be slightly different to cater for your target market. Let us know and we can give you some specific feedback to help you achieve the website's main goal

I subscribed! I have my own newsletter and have been trying to figure out what to say in it, so I've been looking for other illustrators newsletters to read. And of course I also think your work is beautiful and want updates! Well done on the website, it looks awesome!
@concept Thank you Nathan! It's really nice of you to offer more specific feedback!
The main purpose is to be a professional looking portfolio I can link to art directors and agent when hitting them up. I was previously using an Adobe portfolio, and prior to that I actually did my fist round of mailing using a deviantart portfolio... Really wasn't doing it for me!
I have a secondary purpose of selling art through a store on the site that I'm working on right now. I actually used to have a print store on Etsy called Ulysses Design where I sold nursery prints, but I closed it recently because I was looking to rethink my collections, re-brand it and more importantly, tie all of it together to my website in one cohesive package. My website is Ness Illustration and my shop will be rebranded as SweetNess.
@sarahluann Thank you so much, Sarah!! You're my very first subscriber! Let me hug you!
I also subscriber to many artist newsletter to get ideas haha

@nessillustration Congratulations and well done! This is no simple feat!! I checked it out and it looks great!
@eli Thank you Eli! I have to admit I'm bursting with pride that I set out to do something and managed it by learning new skills!
It ended up being not that complicated once I figured out a few specific hurdles, and it also didn't cost me much money O__O I'd love to share what I've learned on the way, if anyone would like to know how to do it!

@nessillustration nice work, congrats! Definitely feel proud on a job well done! I signed up for the newsletter at the bottom on the homepage and it was not submitting, however the one near the top in the middle worked. You might want to remove the one near the bottom.
