Currently working on this one. Should be done before the deadline. It is about a giant who's prisoner can make him cry when she plays her harp. It's called: I'm a Giant Monster!
There will be another tear streaming down the right side of his face, and the girl playing the harp has yet to have much work done.
-
Oh wow! This looks amazing so far! Can't wait to see it progress.
-
@eric-castleman Great concept! I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops
-
@Eric-Castleman I'm sure you've probably answered this question before, but are you working traditionally? Digitally? Hybrid?
-
@art-of-b I am digital except for the imported textures I use in my work. I use tons of paper texture, and no photoshop tools outside of enhancing the qualities of the texture scans. I try to hold off on using the smudge tool as much as possible, except when I am doing the underpainting. So this step I have showed I use the blending tool, because I want the shapes to be as smooth as possible before painting more freely over the top.
-
Started to lay down textures on the giant, and added another tear, though I think the placement is rather off. I think the tear should maybe be off in the corner more. Anywho, this is how it's looking. This under painting is taking longer than usual because everything is so close up, and so every detail matters.
-
starting to drop color in, just to see where I am at with this.
-
Damn. The highlights on the thumbnail and eyes are spot-on. Looking better and better.
-
@art-of-b thanks!!!!
-
The giant and the highlights are great but the little girl is hard to see.
-
still working on the details, and the girl is still missing an arm, but this is where I am at.
-
I think the green dress pops more
-
@eric-castleman I agree that the green dress is better.

This is a great piece and I love your rendering, as always. I don't know if you are finished with the girl but right now, I had to look at her twice to realize that the harp strings weren't her hair. Will her left arm be behind the harp holding it? That might clarify it. Other than that, amazing work.
