Our SVS virtual studio

Sooo, California is burning. I went to the coast for the weekend to get out of the heat and smoke.
When I got back it was worse, but the smoke is doing crazy stuff to the sunlight. My cell phone couldn't capture it so I tried a quick sketch.
We are fortunate not to be included with the poor souls that are loosing their homes to these wildfires. May God ease their pain and give strength and courage to the firefighters battling the blazes.

@burvantill Saw your comment on Procreate. I’m creating all my digital work with the app and trying to rely less on my Cintiq. This will allow me to bring my freelance work with me to the high school I teach at and work on it during free periods, or alongside my students.

@mrsdion show us what you’re working on
-
What is everyone working on?
I had a couple spare minutes so I’m working on my characters for the story I wrote.
-
This is "Heist" at about two hours so a way to go still

Just finished up a little game for next week at the studio I work at. We've got this thing called, "Pirate Day," where kids go from small business to small business and do activities for stamps, and my place is doing, "Pin the Cannonball to the Hull." Hopefully the kids don't get too caught up in being the cannoneers

@rcartwright this is hilarious! I can't wait to see how it turns out. thumbs up!
-
@jabbernewt fun! I might steal this idea for halloween games. =)x
-
I’ve been working on concept characters, colors, and consistency.
-
@burvantill Haha, go for it! Pin the Pumpkin on the Horseman or something

I've been stuck painting a Trump caricature for almost a week, but finally calling it done today. I wasn't able to finish last month's competition, but fingers crossed for next month!!

@burvantill great idea!
I have been going at this project for quite some time now, I have always admired the show Mad Men, and wanted to put my mind into a frame of mind for the....Draw 50things challenge, but early 1960's style...trying to fill the shelves for sure. So many straight lines to consider!
All in all, I have an imaginary sequence done, but wanted to connect the story. -

@burvantill in Procreate I press and hold to copy the color, in photoshop it would be the color picker. Makes for a great way to keep color consistency. Special layers like color burn & color dodge will alter the palette so it’s usually a good idea to make it the top layer if you are painting on a lower layer. At least in my process.

@adrian-k ah! That makes sense. Thanx!

I just finished watching the "How to Draw Everything" course, so I've been practicing some of the things I'ver learned. I also had put together a Facebook page for my Illustration that I never published so I did that today! https://www.facebook.com/scotthigginsillustration/

@Gary-Wilkinson ..so well done as always. Sad commentary, but so well done. @rcartwright that just made me laugh..just great.
Ive been working on an illustration which will be given to a writer to come up with a story for it. I can't wait to read it. Illustration and accompanying story will then hang in the library in Albuquerque along with several others for the month of September. The theme is 'Lost and Found' ..I entitled this 'Isla's Pearls'
Dragons are everywhere, I suppose I was influenced. -
I did a quick Harry Potter sketch, kind of liked it. So, I’m practicing my painting technique on it. WIP atm
